I’m gonna really hope you mean NanouJ’s materials tool, or this is just spam;
Grab the tool, shove it and an .emm file of your choice in a folder somewheres.
Press windows+r and type “cmd” or whatever you do in your system to get a command prompt.
Navigate to the folder you put the tool in with CD command, so for example I’d put say "CD C:\Users\Joe\Desktop\Materialtool"
Now put “matedit export nameofyouremmfile.emm nameyouwantforyourtextfile.txt”.
The tool will create a .txt simple text file you can edit in your choice of simple text editor. It looks like a big list with material names and a bunch of spam after each one. This spam tells each material what its properties are, some are pretty obvious, some are kinda here be dragons and nerdstuff looking. You can edit all this crap to give materials different properties (such as semi transparent, more shiny, this sort of thing), add or remove materials, anything like that. Probably the best is to copy pasta bits from other materials with the properties you want, to append existing materials.
If you aren’t sure what a flag (line of spam) does, google-fu for any identifiable words in the line often helps. For example idk, references to “Alpha” we can quickly learn mean transparency of an object, with a little google magic.
If you aren’t sure what material an object in a character uses, open 'er up in Assets Explorer, find the bodypart or whatsuch in the list there. The names in square brackets such as [skin] [glove] etc are the material names it is using.
When you’ve butchered your .txt to your heart’s content, open up command prompt again as above, navigate to the folder again with CD.
This time do “matedit import nameofyourtextfile.txt nameofyouremmfile.emm”.
The tool will bundle up your changes into a nice compatible .emm file which you can sling in your game and it should work.
Be careful of uppercase and lowercase names, try stuff out. Checking examples from characters that you’re familiar with is always the surest way.
Hope that’s some help.
Edit: lol two big answers posted at the same time, you should be good to go ;D
