USF4 | PC Custom Skin Thread

I hope I am writing in the right one. I still haven’t figured out how exactly to replace models, but is it possible to create something like this without making any errors to costumes? You know like I make original costume look like this, but for example costume 1 and 2 suddenly get some problems from nowhere?

@mugenlove100
I like that Gill with the belt. Better than the original look, IMO.

@Jimbo13
I’m seconding the normal map suggestion.

So just finished up working on a Dudley skin.Rock n Roll Dudley. I thought I would give the gentleman boxer a nod. hope you like.

Thanks, had bumps in the exposure tried smoothing them out still no luck. It’s confusing because in wireframe on the model they are flattened out.

so, editing the normal map didn’t fix it…?

Normal maps a step above my head, I’m working my way through tutorials (thanks btw) on this project here’s what i’ve done so far and the result.

What do I need to read up on to inject another head model? I tried Sagat’s but asset explorer says it wont work. Is that possible I noticed a lot of hair swaps.

Hmmm. Yeah, that’s weird. I’m surprised those bumps are still visible after what you’ve changed already.

The model swapping is a pretty big endeavor. I’ve got a tutorial that may work for you, but it doesn’t cover bone assignment, which I have only a tenuous understanding of in the first place…

One other place you might look is sensibeat’s djinn mod. I think he did some head work on him that might be helpful to check out.

I took your advice and checked out the djinn mod, which lead to finding out you can make it look smooth with any shade darker than the outline of the bump.

Could the bump outlines be in the oil effect file?

One possible but quite ugly temporary fix would be to clone his head model, sortof just chop off the scalp polygons, push modifier/scale them up very slightly so they will cover over his real scalp. Remap their texture to another “normal” part of his skin map and just assign this new “skullcap” model to his head bone.

It’d cover you for the meantime at least til the real cause is identified, but bit of a cludge fix.

Edit: posted same time, disregard this.

that’s certainly possible. I guess the way to check that would be to do a moveset swap over to some other character (i.e., put hakan’s model files into someone else’s chara folder) and see if it persists.

Will this mod cause game to crash if selecting a different color?

I love the way this looks but it crashes the game… what to check.

Hi, everyone! I don’t use this forum often, but I do check this thread all the time for wonderful mods for my game. I’ve got an incredible amount of them installed! Juri has about 18 costumes in my game, haha.

I come here with a quick question or two, and I hope you guys and gals can help me with it even though only one of them concerns modding. I recently had to reinstall my game because I was getting errors when trying to use the “Light Stage Mod” pack that was released. I was able to get the music it adds to properly play, but the stage background was just a black rectangle area similar to the training stage. So, help with that would be nice, but MORE importantly, after reinstalling the game and patching it, I can no longer get the Unlocker to work. I really need to have all the colors unlocked because I like to go through all the colors in a costume mod once I install it, to see which ones I like the most. If anybody could help me out with the Unlocker, or (even better) provide for me a working save file for the game that has all the colors for all characters unlocked, I would appreciate it so much!

Keep up the good work, lads!

I’ve made a quick recolour pack - more for personal use than anything else, but I thought someone else might like it! Again, it’s T.Hawk but I do spend 99% of my time in fights seeing T.Hawk so I get bored of his visual appearance some times! x]

It kinda happened again, sorry.

Will try and start getting through the like 6 characters waiting for menus now, and looking at some messing with a model/texture mod. Since I seem to have started trolling with Juri recently, I might as well repair her.

@draginite: Possibly stupid answer but, are you sure you didn’t just leave the background detail set to minimum? Doesn’t that result in a black box like the training stage? As to the unlocker, afaik yeah it was broken by the last mini-patch.

Awesome Augh i’m in love whit that “Juri’s menu”!

Do you mean in the graphics settings for the game in the options menu? I don’t remember changing anything like that.

Because Cody has a knife and handcuffs someone should make an OJ Simpson skin for Cody.
