I am having trouble posting in my own thread. I don’t know why. So I’m trying a new thread to see if that works…
@jonyfraze I checked the “graphics/displays” on my Mac as you mentioned and the graphics cards were listed.
I went ahead and started the Bootcamp install but got as far as it asking me for the Windows installer disk.
I don’t have one. Do I have to buy one? Is there a cheap version I can use / or digital version / or work around? Any ideas?
Thanks for your help BTW.
I suddenly have urgency around this because I have a surprise trip to E3 to play SFV! Woop woop! B)
Yes
You would need a legit copy of Windows.
OEM copies are cheaper than the retail versions
Windows 7 Home premium OEM version just $99, but you have to choose between 32 bit and 64 bit versions.
If you have a processor capable of 64 bit get the 64 bit version of the OS. Make sure your copy of Bootcamp can support 64 bit. If not you might have to rely on 32 bit.

Beware of upgrade versions, as you need a prior existing legit Windows OS. Get a Full version.
Its very uncommon but sometimes at seminars, trade shows and other sponsored events by Microsoft, they sometimes give way copies of Windows.
@Darksakul nailed it… if your using mavericks or yosemite on the mac side (ver 10.10) then bootcamp only supports 64 bit. read up here.
Yeah, bootcamp should always work with 64-bit at this point, given that all macs are now 64-bit (as required by OSX itself now)
OK, thanks @Darksakul @jonyfraze @“Missing Person”
So this is exactly the same one right?
I need fast delivery and I have Prime.
Regarding the question of whether my processor can handle 64 bit. I don’t know. Here are the details:

Am I good to purchase Windows 7?
Apologies for not being very tech savvy.
Your help has been very welcome!
Oh wait. I found this. https://support.apple.com/en-al/HT201948
I have i7 core. I think I’m good.
Your processor has the ability to run both but since your using Yosemite bootcamp only supports the 64 bit version now.
OK guys. THANK YOU for your help!
So I managed to get the Windows disc and I installed it via Bootcamp - took ages!
Stage one complete.
Then I joined steam and tried to download Street Fighter. Turns out I don’t have enough memory in my Bootcamp partition…urgh…
So I need to allocate new memory to the Bootcamp partition.
I guess I should follow this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WeKeawqxUa0
The video was featured in this forum: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5450324?tstart=0
Am I good to do this? Any thoughts. Cheers!
P.S. I have to do it today so I’m tagging a bunch of you, hoping I’ll catch one of you
@jonyfraze @Darksakul @“Missing Person” @Tensho @Coffeejuice @FR0STBIT3
dude… remember that partition is also part of your main hard drive. so if your data isnt backed up on your mac side you shouldnt risk it. honestly - cut your losses and use boot camp assistant to remove the partion and start over. its the safest bet. an extra 2 hours can save you a bigger headache… fyi i work for a certain computer company which name is also a fruit hint, hint and i see people screwing up their drives trying stuff like this all the time. good luck.
Ok @jonyfraze I’m doing it now.
Re. your job, are you trying to say you work at the frozen banana stand? There’s always money in the banana stand
Ok so when I reinstall. I think there’s a point where I can expand the partition…
It sucks not being a tech guy…that should be on t-shirt!
Haha yup tech support and frozen bananas…
During the boot camp assistant just move the slider to choose a bigger partition on the window side… I suggest 100 or higher if you want to install other games…
Cool I did it. But I think I moved it to 40. I won’t get any other games. I have all the latest consoles. So it’s strictly for SF4 right now.
You’ve been a real help.
I really hope that when it boots up it plays well with little input delay. That would really make my day.
cool… find me on steam when you get on… same user name as here… when you get up and running make sure to install the latest graphics driver. the bootcamp driver isnt always the latest. from there you can tweak the settings for better performance… by the way i got the asus rog gl551 - freaking amazing. peep the setup… yup i built a stick into my desk drawer lol.

@jonyfraze Wow, what an amazing set up. I need that for work!
So I’m back from E3. Wifi at my hotel was non-existent.
I managed to get USF4 working on my Mac today with not noticeable input delay - HURRAH! We did it!
It works with my current Eightarc fightstick set to Xbox 360. I have a TE2 Xbox 360 stick coming in the next few days.
Anyway, @jonyfraze, can you give me instructions/guidance on:
“install the latest graphics driver. the bootcamp driver isn’t always the latest. from there you can tweak the settings for better performance…”
I can’t get to you on Steam because it wants me to spend $5 to use messaging (I bought the USF4 code through Amazon). Honestly, if we can message here that would work better.
Thanks to you and everyone else who has helped me so far. This is going to be perfect for practicing in the training room on the road!
Easiest way to get the latest graphics driver would be to Open Steam. Go to the Steam menu on top and hit the “Check for Video Driver Update”. Just cross reference the graphics card you have and run the installer! Just search for me on steam and add as friend no need to message.
