that’s that too bad, hey can you possibly show us his target combo? I want to see if it consistently forces standing or not.
This is seriously awesome news, but I’m not sure if it’s worth that vicious DP damage nerf… I thought F.SRK was supposed to do more damage than Strong this time around, but oh well. Does it at least have the additional invincibility frames so it can be used as a proper AA?

Oh man. That Jump RH, low forward, fireball FADC Ultra 2 was nice, nice damage. The best thing about the fireball is that it’ll be much much better to use as a footsie/pressure tool at close to “in their face” range.
Yeah it does look really good, but i have to agree with the man you quoted though. While good, it does seem to have weaknesses. It’s completely useless as an anti air move, so when picking Ultra 2, your punisher for nabbing people out the air is 2 mp srk. I don’t get why his Ultra 1 (which has a pretty good amount of setups) wasn’t given a buff for about 50-60 damage?
That’s my only real complaint though, everything else seems to suffice, and we still don’t know how good Ultra 2 will be. It just seems a little bit too easy for the some of the new characters to land Ultra though, specifically Cody, Dudley, Ibuki.
I’m not really feeling any crazy changes on Fierce DP, but Jab DP is lookin’ good. I know I used to have it trade with Sim limbs at times, but I haven’t had that happen so far.
I didn’t get to mess with Ken too much, since my buddy was trying new characters and was too free when I was using Ken, but I’ll try to test some of the questions and such.
I noticed the damage nerf to EX shoryu… It broke my heart a little bit…
But overall, Ken is lookin’ good, guys. Ken army, HO!!!

could anyone check if rh tatsu leaves you with + frames? and any c.hp c.mp far s.rh and target combo changes thanks for all the info so far guys really awesome seeing ken shaping up better then in vanilla

After playing super for a long time last night, I can promise you guys Ken got very nicely buffed. He just overall feels faster. His c.mk and f.mk seems a bit quicker, im not sure about his sweep though and im not too sure about his fireball it MAY be faster I honestly cant really tell the diffrence. But I noticed I did ALOT better with matches I otherwise suck at. No I didnt test xxxx or xxinto ultra or anything like that so please dont ask.
RH Tatsu still seemed -1 to me. Then again, when I’m trying to tack on a c.short, even MK Tatsu seems like -1 so that may just be me sucking. Whenever I tried to c.lk after the RH Tatsu, I got counter poked by 3 frame normals at times. Again, it could just be me.
c.HP seemed the same to me. The c.lp, c.hp link isn’t too tough for me by plinking, but it didn’t seem any different. I miss it occasionally, but land it more often than not, just like in vanilla.
c.MP seemed the same, too. It still has an awesome hit box and raped during footsies. I didn’t try any fancy links from it.
I didn’t even touch standing far roundhouse. I’ll be sure to mess with it when I get off work.
I didn’t use target combo much, but I didn’t have any whiffing problems last night.
Update for everyone…
Comboing stand jab into crouch HK can only be done at max distance. The hitbox of kens sweep circles around this body until the final active frame combos from the end of his foot. I thought they changed the game since the last build when I was practicing it…but found I could only combo it from cr. lk cr. lp cr.lp st.lp cr. hk. It won’t work on all characters, but I’ve been able to pull it off a couple of times online against Ryus.
And another note to add. Ken probably has the best uppercut in the game now, with MP SRK. Nearly everyone in the game had a SRK nerf in the form of less invincible frames. You’ll be seeing a ton of trades in SSF4. However, in spite of adding this nerf to almost the entire case of SSF4…they gave Ken’s MP SRK way more invincibility. No longer do you need to worry about Akuma constantly dive kicking…and you can do nothing but block or trade, or get a clean SRK 1/10th the time. It’s now free damage for Ken. MP SRK does 160, FP SRK does 140. And FP SRK did not get any changes.

Not quite, a close low forward into hadoken FADC into sweep will not connect. However, a distanced low forward into hadoken FADC into sweep will connect on opponents who are crouching. It’s very situational, but a tool nonetheless.

It is great to hear that Ken didn’t get any SRK priority nerf but instead buff !!
So I guess Ken’s sweep is left with 8 start up frames. Then, I suppose Ken’s Ultra 2 also has 8 start up frames

That doesn’t make any sense…the only reason I can see that it would only combo off when you’re far away is that ken’s sc.lp got nerfed to have less frame advantage, or his s.lp got more frame advantage (unlikely…its +7 in sf4, thats really high in the first place).
My prediction…
sc.LP = +6 (from +7)
s.LP= +7
c.HK = 7 startup (from 8)
If s.MP is still +7 then sweep should combo as well…I haven’t seen anybody try it yet. That’d be effin beastly. I use s.MP to sweep in matches all the time now, because s.mp is a beastly poke and it can combo into sweep with a counter-hit and if blocked its a great frame trap. Since it’s done from so far away…most people wont attempt to lolshoryukenintoultra. If it can combo into sweep on hit, too, thats just sick. I know me and lilsicx would abuse the shit out of it.
It was probably the case where you get +1 more frame advantage when you hit your opponents with tip of your hit box (distanced enough) with s.lp or c.lp
This works with any character and that’s how Chun-li does c.lp into Sweep
Notice Chun-li’s c.lp has +6 on hit and her Sweep has 7 start up
Good thinking. Would make sense, cause I was having a hard time trying to put sense as to why it wasn’t working when I was in close range.

Its just a s.lp…I don’t think they’d eff with the hitboxes. Oh well, only another week or so to go…

Stand MK might of become faster. Can now combo, cr. lk cr.lk cr.lp st. lp st.mk for 5 hits. At that distance, you might as well just try for sweep tho.
The start up frame is different on close st.mk and far st.mk
close st.mk has 8 start up and far st.mk has 7 start up :o
since it’s **cr. lk cr.lk cr.lp st. lp ** follow up I presume you are performing far st.mk
