Uses for all of Dante's moves

Not sure how useful this is but if you use Air Trick against a cornered opponent and do Hammer, it actually hits/puts Dante in front of them.

Courtesy of Nini Heart’s videos, Grapple forces a neutral tech after they land. This guarantees that they have to deal with whatever mixup you have ready, and even gives you enough time to teleport safely before they land.

Also, Grapple can combo off of specific assists, in some cases even allowing you to Grapple mid-combo without having to use a wallbounce. Not that saving your wallbounce is particularly useful with regards to creating reset situations (at least not that I can see), but it may help those who would otherwise have trouble doing Stinger xx BC Grapple.

Hey is Air Trick only usable for air??Bcos I tried down-down-S a few times and does not activate most of the time(and get shut down by Plasmabeam ==) ,sorry a newbie to Vs games haha.
Why is Crazydance bad since it has 1 of the highest dmg??can’t we spam the S button during his Reverb Shock/jet stream so we won;t miss the window or I am missing something here??

Air trick can only be done on the ground, actually.
And Crazy Dance is I believe 1 frame to get it, mashing doesn’t work very well. And the only ways to combo off of it are a snapback or go into Devil Trigger, then DHC. Or I guess you could use Hidden Missiles, that assist will let you combo anything

if we miss the crazy dance window,can;t we use this opportunity as a launcher >clay pigeon>prop shredder>volcano>beehive??

Then what are we suppose to do when our ally is down and dante came in while Doom is spamming Plasmabeams??

I actually dont think Doom Missiles would let you combo off Crazy Dance since you would have to call Doom before you do the QCB motion. hmm then again it might be possible.

If you can hit Crazy Dance while your Dorm also has a Stalker Flare on the screen, you can combo off it since Stalker Flare doesnt hit during Crazy Dance but it scales it pretty heavily. You could also do Crazy Dance -> DT DHC Stalker Flare, raw tag in Dante, Air Trick -> Hammer but it’s all too much work for what little dmg you get. IIRC you cant even DHC into Ammy’s Vale of Mist and continue the combo.

hey,why I hardly c people use jet stream???Besides,it is easier to pull off fireworks after jet stream than Reverb Shock coz Reverb Shock duration is a bit too short soemtimes.

Fireworks comes out so easily you can literally mash H and get it 100% of the time. Jet stream must be done after a ground bounce. Beehive does more damage. Jet stream has the advantage of moving your opponent closer to the wall though. You can reset from either situation. Air grab after fireworks or guess the back/forward tech roll after beehive and ground bounce has already been used up.
Reverb shock in a combo is not as efficient as jet stream/beehive. Just as a poke though it’s one of Dante’s best tools.

Other than beating super armor what is reverb shock good at??? The thing is that I am not sure whether my reverb shock will hit so even when I execute it ,there is like a lag ,I am like “Ok,now press H” ,but then the time is too late when I am going to press it lol.I guess I just need more practice.How to Airgrab after BoldMove(amirite??),basically how to judothrow(any character)???

What isn’t Reverb Shock good at? It hits multiple times, has good range, is the same speed as Dante’s fastest normal, and is completely safe on block and whiff. If you’re having trouble getting Fireworks just mash the hell out of :h: after doing the :qcb::l:. In order to air throw after Bold Move just do :f:+:h: or :b:+:h: like any other throw.

I’ve come to the conclusion that Crazy Dance is a bad ass move I’ll never find a use for. I was trying to get some XF2 kill combos that ended with Crazy Dance so that you could save meter and time by not having the super, and none of em broke 1M. I got over 1M with an ending that went Jetstream xx Fireworks, but when I tried to get Crazy Dance the opponent’s positioning was off. I’m gonna try and mess around with it a bit more, but it’s pretty useless other than styling right now, especially cause of its stupid timing.

Oh I definitely agree with you that it’s a stupid move. I said in another thread it does extra dmg than Fireworks but even so, it’s too situational and too strict on timing. Oh well atleast we have it for Style.

Also, sort of off topic, anyone know where I can find a game save for DMC3SE for PS2 that has alll the weapons and moves? I know GFaqs has saves but Im not sure if they mean 100% as in all moves as well. I want to show all of his moves in that as well as they’re MvC3 counterparts

I got some info from anohter guy about how Twister/Tempest can be used as a chip setup for killing people.

twister and tempest in the corner after million dollars can be used to cause 110k chip on block. This is important in order to finish characters off like zero or vergil.

Doesnt MD cause a soft knockdown though? Meaning couldnt they just tech roll forward out of the corner or just hold the assist button to tag out on the first possible frame?

That’s what I was thinking but there’s probably some other setups where this might be more useful.

I know there’s a way to make it so that MD ends with the opponent recovering in the air instead of on the ground so maybe that’s what he’s talking about but I havent figured out a 100% way to do it.

On hit there’s not much you can do besides super. If hsd isn’t up there yet you can cancel into devil trigger or xfactor for a heavily scaled combo.
Better to cancel reverb shock (which causes a soft knockdown), skipping fireworks and the damage and hitstun scaling.
Stinger + drones lets you combo off reverb-fireworks, stinger + vajra lets you combo off reverb. I’m sure there are other assists that work but I haven’t messed around with it.

On block, fireworks is only +2 I think? And since Dante’s fastest moves start up 8 frames… Yeah, not really the free pressure it seems to be. Unless you call drones or hidden missiles first, in which case feel free to go nuts.
People usually push block the hell out of fireworks anyway so you’re back at full screen.
Once again, there are probably pressure/block strings with other assists but idk what works.
