A useful thing against a makoto getting over aggressive is the head butt … I play makoto.Only move that really annoys me is that, as it’s the only real way out of multiple setups that I have to predict or i’ll lose the advantage. It gets you out of cr. lk and karakusa setups post hayate and gives you a throw attempt.
. Matchup is definately for makoto, but if the makoto is jump happy (which a lot of makoto’s are as her Air to ground attacks are so good) remember air parry - > combo is 70%+. Also if they have predictable jump patterns air fireball, but if you do it and they don’t jump Makoto has garunteed dmg regardless of distance thanks to EX hayate.
Priority should be locking down Makoto in the corner with Aegis, her SAII is scary but keep in mind he is probably fishing for parry’s and mix it up accordingly. Use your fast dash and nuetral throw to punish them for that. Also fishing out of Aegis lockdown is far from easy.
I like playing this matchup with makoto as I don’t have much problems as long as i don’t jump much. Just have to use headbutt tricks / Aegis lockdown/and your extreme dmg to your advantage.
thanks for the advice dude glad to hear a makoto player give us some advice lol, so your saying rinse that headbutt but problem for me is damn that ex chop i wondered could it be parried on reaction? If so i think the match up would become some what easier.
Apart from the karakusas another problem is how do you counter makoto while in the air though jp rh has great range an piority i find it looses to tsurgis all the damn time especially the Ex version.
I guess only way to win such a match would be to turtle right?
lol, you can actually poke her out of EX chop if your fast enough. It seems faster than it is trust me. People I play with jab and reversal super me out of it a lot. Er… Turtling isn’t what i’d say Urien should do. Makoto eats turtles alive as Karakusa is like the best anti-turtle weapon ever.
Try not to meet makoto air to air, but if you do don’t use your Jumping RH as she’ll beat that unless she’s a good deal below you. Use your uh… think FP? whatever one where he gets in like a superman fly pose.
Priority one should be cornering her when you have bar. Than just mix her up under an Aegis and if you touch them that’s like 50%+ easy. Your Nuetral throw and dash are also REALLY good. If your getting parried just throw her ass it’s a lot of stun and a good chunk of dmg.
woah i never knew you could poke her out of ex chop, but im glad you said nt to turtle against her becuase i suck at turtling i prefer to rush down or jus zone, damn these lil fast sunvab***hes yang an makoto make it hard for urien to corner them i guess urien has jus keep on throwin all day long lol to win such matches
