āAs a few people know, when playing PS1 or PS2 games on a PS3 on an HDTV upscaling it anything past 480i, thereās about 1/10 of a second of input lag built into the system. Whether itās component or HDMI, itāll always be the same. While itās not all too big of a deal for some people, when playing games that have elements requiring specific timing (Street Fighter III: Third Strike, for example), itās very annoying and it honestly kind of bothers me that few othersāmainly the hardcore fighting crowd such as SRK-- recognize it. Has Sony ever addressed this issue? Will there ever be a definite fix? If thereās anything Iām hoping to be fixed in the 3.0 update, itās this, but considering the fact that backwards compatible PS3s have long since been discontinued I find it unlikely. I donāt mean to nitpick; granted I can easily hook up my PS2 with component cables to my HDTV but thatās such an inconvenience considering the PS3ās upscaler makes the games look great at the cost of my button presses being delayed.ā
