Use Tokido’s setup. After a throw stand roundhouse into heavy DF. You can either dive kick or palm. The palm will beat crouch forward by landing behind Ryu and allowing to to hit him. Dive kick beats DP. Mix up between these will give Ryu a hard time.
j.hk?

Ugh. Anyone else think that seth is a bitch to play? Assuming your opponent is decent of course.
Then again this isn’t AE seth so i dunno if he will be easier/harder there.
Should be easir in AOE. I think Gamogo explained some stuff with the new Seth matchup.
Ya, its definitely easier for Akuma in AE now. His retracted j.hp means we are able to get in easier to apply up-close pressure. Its insane how much this changes the match-up even against Seths who don’t use it a lot. His head stomp hitbox changes I feel change very little and those combos into aerial resets to invoke a guessing game remain intact. His health gain from an opponent perspective does very little though I’m sure Seth players appreciate it.
C2Q: I agree Seth can be a nightmare. A mate of mine is an excellent Seth player. He runs a train on me once he gets his momentum into swing. Thankfully a solid combo from Akuma can ruin his day but getting in to dish it out can be hard. I find Seths odd in that he can be played in such a wide array of styles and his keep out game is very effective. I find myself bulldogging Seth a lot and using high ex air fireballs (as these also snuff out his Ultra) as a means to get in. While Seth can be tatsu sweeped, I tend to just plain take the damage from an SRK because he’s so weak though you can use the sweep followed by an lk flip palm whiff to bait out his responses. Where are you having trouble?
I guess the biggest thing is his command throw. I see many seths just dash forward and throw me right off the bat. I’m so used to trying to tech but it will never work obviously. Also I can only jump over his sb’s or block when he throws them once he has ultra, that’s a pain too. I can pretty much block everything else, that’s not a problem but he is just uber annoying when played right.
Also, the healty 900 stun is a cool upgrade for him.
That makes me salty, yeah.
So a while ago, I’ve seen some setups where the tatsu sweep works on Abel at the “magical” distance. So I decided to go in the lab and try as many variations of landing a tatsu at the farthest range and seeing if a sweep could be connected afterwards. Interestingly I found a couple new ones to add. The ones that were discovered before were: Focus Crumple, cr. strong 3X tatsu sweep; and Focus crumple st.cl.strong, st.jab, cr.forward, tatsu sweep.
However, after experimenting around a bit:
X-up j.forward, cr. jab, st.cl.strong xx hado, cr.strong X2 tatsu sweep also works. And the cr.strong X3 method can also be done with a deep jumpin RH.
hi guys, need some help regarding guy.
lately there’s been an increase number of guy population in my area.
i am sorta struggling to deal with his zoning of
s.mk,c.mk,and c.hk(slide kick). some how extremely annoying to get in to him.
i know he’s pretty weak from akuma s.hk but i can’t do it if my opponent is constantly keep me out with they s.mk and c.mk.
to add even more injury i find it a bit struggling to safejump his 4frame ex tatsu…
therefore i felt that the match is kinda lame due to my regular safejump isnt working well.
and i am footsie games are kinda useless since i can’t really whiff punish it.
anyone have that problem with guy at the beginning? maybe some of you already past that point and find guy easy to deal with.
also, interesting stuff that if safejump is done real close u’ll end up landing behind guy when he does the ex tatsu?
some idea/hints appreciated.
Very interesting finds, but I can’t see myself doing those setups other than the focus crumple one…if you wanna FADC you can just do jump in or dive kick > c.lp > s.hp xx hado FADC c.mp > s.lp > sweep for similar damage (probably even more) and much much less hassle.
Yeah, I’ll try to post a video of the actual damage and stun outputs of the combos. Your alternative is probably a tad easier, but I could see it doing more damage and more stun which might be worth it in certain scenarios. And besides, it looks way cool so you can earn more style points
Hey I need some help with fei long guys. I play DMG Inthul on probably a weekly bases an he always destroys me. Once I get a knockdown I’m ok but it’s hard as hell to get it. He does safe rekkas all day an if I try to attack after he does a cr.lk or mk not sure but it always stuff whatever I try to do.
Neutral jump his rekkas, and if you feel bold, try and counter hit them with a focus.
Identify which strength rekka he is using by how far he moves across the screen, learn what sort of frame advantage you are at and how you can punish them. They’re not as safe as you might think, but he’s not going to stop doing them until he knows you know that.
What you should REALLY do, though, is ask inthul. You’ve got a high level player right infront of you, you should definitely be asking him how to beat him.
Watch how Tokido fights Fei.

At the medium long distance neutral jumps is difficult for Fei. You want to mix it up with air fireballs and neutral jumps attacks to stuff his get in attempts. Fei must be zoned until you get a hard knockdown. Then you can apply vortex, if it doesn’t hit I suggest getting out and back to zoning. You need to take the match slow and avoid slugging it out with Fei. His ground game beats too much of your options. Learn to react to chicken wings and punish them.
Any match videos of top level play vs Seth. This guy is infuriating to play. Mainly because of all the random shit I get hit by. Also its like playing Zangief with a teleport. Jesus
Look up || seth || vs mbr nl
in that tokido video against mago, why did he do wake up hk tatsu?
I have yet to see the video (watched it live tho), but could that be a simple AE mistake?
I saw him using that quite a few times (in AE), should beat/go over lows and be safe if blocked…
I thought the wake up hk Tatsu was some sort of option select.
Unfortunately there isn’t alot of top level Akuma vs Seth play recently. I did find a couple of vids though.
