The discount was approved by Drekken because there was a legitimate concern brought up by players about the lack of available XBOX sticks. POWNZ is trying to procure some XBOX sticks of an acceptable quality (TE or custom), however the time frame for doing so hasn’t matched up well with the date of the event.
So we’re asking the community, AND giving incentive for people to help out. We know not everyone likes lending random people their arcade sticks and both Drekken and myself will be allowing people to borrow our own personal TE’s.
I brought this suggestion to Drekken myself, as i know the majority of players in our area play on PS3. However due to licensing issues that have come up recently we have to switch to xbox for any POWNZ and sponsored tournaments. If there were as many XBOX players as there were PS3 players I would not have suggested this discount. However to offset the fact that there are nowhere near enough 360 sticks for everyone, we thought it would only be right to give a little incentive for lending your arcade stick to strangers.
Hopefully in the future we can eliminate doing this if we have enough equipment available but for now this is the way it will be for now.
