if youve figured it out, please help me cause im having the same problem.
much love.
are you guys using the 0.08 drivers or the 0.09 drivers. I found that the 0.08 drivers worked for my MadCatz 4716 while the 0.09 drivers simply caused the quadrant lights to blink on and off. After getting the 0.08 drivers, remember to install the custom plist file for it to recognize it.
Ok, so forgive me because I’m really new with MAMEs and stuff, but I’ve installed the driver and try running a game with MAME OS X but can’t get any response from the joystick at all.
I try hitting tab to change the controls, but can’t seem to change anything (even to another key on the keyboard). What am I doing wrong?
Chances are, you’re doing nothing wrong.
MAME OS X decided to implement their own input system instead of using what every other program on Mac uses. So if you’re using a newer Macbook or Apple Keyboard, it won’t work because MAME OS X won’t support the new keyboards.
So with MAME OS X, the best you’ll get is 1 analog joystick, and all of the buttons. None of the triggers or second analog stick will work.
And make sure you enable Joystick in Mame OS X’s Preferences. Other than that, I’m unsure on what else could be the problem. Have you tried using your controller with another emulator? Such as SNES9x or ZSNES? Best of luck with it.
The Madcatz TE stick doesn’t work for SNES9x either. Also, in System Preferences, under the Xbox 360 Controllers, it says “No devices found.” Why won’t this work??
I just noticed this. The bottom one listed is the only one with the actual 4716 Product ID. However, the top one has completely different codes, even a different Vendor code (not the usual MadCatz one). All that needs to be done is add the new ProductID and VendorID onto the info.plist file, and redistribute it.
You can do it yourself if you want to simply edit the info.plist file and update the drivers using either my program or manually using the terminal.
I’ll add it in after I try to help a few other folks with a TE stick. I’m wondering if there’s a possibility that those IDs were also changed.
Could you give me the Vendor ID and Product IDs?
Go to “About this Mac” under the Apple menu, click on More Info, and go to the USB section. Under the information for your TE stick, it should have the Vendor and Product ID.
I want to see if it’s VendorID is 0x1bad, or 0x0738. Another person who is PMing me is also having problems with the TE stick, and I’m wondering if MadCatz started switching to different IDs, as Paik4Life has shown.
Ok, here’s the info:
MadCatz FightStick TE:
Product ID: 0xf039
Vendor ID: 0x1bad
Version: 4.90
Serial Number: 1284E9B0
Speed: Up to 12 Mb/sec
Manufacturer: Mad Catz, Inc.
Location ID: 0x1d100000
Current Available (mA): 500
Current Required (mA): Unknown (Device has not been configured)
It should be mentioned that I have a Marvel vs. Capcom TE stick, which is newer and may be why it has the different IDs.
So there’s the culprit to why it won’t work.
I’ll try to get the new info.plist file updated as soon as possible.
Alright, so this link:
Here’s what’s added:
Newer MadCatz 4716 controller.
Newer (MvC2) TE Stick controller information.
Let me know if this works. Good luck everyone.
You’re a hero! This worked perfectly for me! I was just about to post asking if you could help me out, but right before I did you updated it. You’re great man, I really appreciate it! Now its time to get my SFIII3 on! GGPO here I come.
Forgive my ignorance, but do I do with this file?
If you have version 0.08 installed,
Drag the .plist file onto this installerapp.
And by drag, I literally mean drag. Basically, it’s everything on this post:
http://www.shoryuken.com/showthread.php?t=188245&p=8119187&viewfull=1#post8119187
But with the different controllerlist file instead.
If you installed version 0.09 from the xbox 360 driver website, you can reinstall 0.08 using this installer:
It’ll allow you to overwrite the 0.09 version.
A bit late to the party here, but I’ve tried to work my way through this thread, and have got as far as installing that 0.09-replacer that puts it back to 0.08, removing USB Overdrive, and dragging the above linked file onto the installer app, but… still, in system preferences, it says “No Devices Found”. What am I doing wrong, and/or what have I missed?
EDIT: For clarification, trying to get the MadCatz Fightpad working - same Vendor & Product ID as JokerSmilez above.
To be honest, the only procedure missing would be waiting a few minutes for it to refresh your kernel extensions. But there’s probably something else occurring. . .
Do you happen to have any other controller to test it with? I’ve had some confirmation from elsewhere that the TE stick was able to work with the edited drivers list. If you could get it tested with another controller to confirm the drivers are working, that would narrow it down.
i’ve got a MVC2TE stick and a madcatz fightpad. i reinstalled .08 and and used the install new controller list app. when i plug in the TE stick all the lights blink once and go out. what should i do now?
Here’s an updated controller list that includes the TE-S fightsticks. I recently got one and realized it didn’t work! So I quickly added it to the current list and am enjoying it.
Hopefully, this may also help some others as well.
If there are any other controllers that need to be added, please post their VendorID and ProductIDs.
I recently tried this with my SF4 Round 2 TE Stick and could not get it to work. I don’t know if I am doing the installation wrong or if its not added to the .plist. Here are the vendor and product IDs for this:
Street Fighter IV FightStick TE:
Product ID: 0xf038
Vendor ID: 0x1bad
Give this a try:
20100708Controllers008.plist
The Product ID was not on the list. So it’s added now.
