Updated 360 controller mac driver, Hori EX2, Mad Catz SFIV Sticks

Anyone have any luck getting this working with the PS3 fightpad? OS X is detecting the USB input but no luck getting it to register in MAME OS X.

I just tried my custom stick (which uses the MadCatz Retro stick PCB) with my computer after installing the latest driver. It shows up in the driver’s panel as plugged in, but none of the buttons or the d-pad show being pressed in that same panel.

Any idea why that is? I may have misread the first post, but I thought this latest release supported that PCB.

Actually, after a couple of reboots it miraculously started working. So I can confirm that this patch works with the PS3 version of the Madcatz Fight stick

Hi everyone.

Has anyone managed to install this under Snow Leopard?
I haven’t been able to install it…

It worked like a charm under Leopard but using Snow Leopard latest Build, it doesn’t work anymore.

anyone with similar exeriences and maybe a solution?

Thanks in advance

Did anyone get this to work with the 360 MadCatz Fightpad (aka the one bundled with SFIV PC)? The preference pane won’t detect it for me…

unfortunately, this does not work for OS X MAME. the RT and LT doesn’t respond to the software. It does work with MACMAME.

any updates for MAME OS X key configuration?

I use it with MAME OS X, but I don’t have LT, RT on either of my sticks… DO you have trouble with any other buttons?

nope, just the RT and LT buttons. I really hate using macmame, due to the fact some of my other zip files is not compatible with it. I CANNOT FIND MVC, X-men vs SF ROMS FOR MACMAME…it’s very frustrating. :xeye:

Why bother? I mean, who needs EIGHT buttons for mame?
I think all games use 4 Buttons. That’s more than enough. You have 6 functional buttons on the SFIV TE Stick (if we’re talking about those).

Use Mame OSX and stick to it. just configure the stick properly and you shouldn’t have any problem with the missing two buttons.

Anyone any success with Snow Leopard?
Is the creator of this driver still working on it?

X360 SFIV TE: The roundhouse(RT) button doesn’t registered for OSX MAME. Does yours work? If so, can u explain to us how you did it. Kinda pointless playing street fighter without it.

Thanks.

I’ll also chime in and say that I can’t get RT and LT to work for MAME OS X.

I’ve tried with other emulators, and all buttons work fine, with the exception of Kega Fusion (same problem as MAME OS X).

Also couldn’t find any kind of config file to edit, because this seems to be an issue specific to how the emulators handle USB controllers. I wish I knew more about this. :wasted:

Edit: I tested Final Burn Alpha in Windows using a VM. All buttons work fine. I really prefer MAME OS X, though. :frowning:

2nd Edit: Ok so I found the individual config files (per game). If you were to setup your buttons arcade style:

Button 1 (Jab), Button 2 (Strong), Button 3 (Fierce)
Button 4 (Short), Button 5 (Forward), Button 6 (Roundhouse)

The TE stick’s buttons are numbered as such:

3, 4, 6, 5
1, 2, 8, 7

So editing the config file I changed button 6 (for roundhouse) to the TE stick’s button 8 (also 7 just in case), and it still didn’t work.

any updates?

Any updates on Snow Leopard?
the driver is released under GPL and the source is available under http://tattiebogle.net/index.php/ProjectRoot/Xbox360Controller/OsxDriver

Maybe someone knows how to port those things. Unfortunately, I don’t.

I don’t either, but I’m taking a look now. Hopefully it’s something trivial.

This is what Tattiebogle wrote on his website today, regarding Snow Leopard.

Snow Leopard
If you’ve e-mailed I’ll try to reply, but I’ve had lots. I’ll get a Snow Leopard-compatible version of the driver released just as soon as I’ve managed to install it (hampered due to lack of disk space).

Be kind and donate if you like to support his work:

I installed the driver, changed a permission kextload was complaining about, and added an entry to the plist for my HRAP EX, but now the LED just flashes, and it doesn’t work. I’ll see if I can mess around with it some more in the meantime.

bump

I posted instructions on how to modify the driver to make the LT/RT triggers work in Mame OSX here:
