playing him properly in every match tooka while
It definitely takes a while, but donāt try to apply everything youāve learn in a single match. Take your time and implement the knowledge little by little. It will all make sense after a little time.
I realised after a while that my team is pretty much three point characters, but Zero is pretty much the guy who can hit anywhere and I can easily perform resets with.
Now I run Spidy/Zero/Chris, in that order mostly because Iām a new spidy player. I can use Spidys assist alot more then Spidy can use Zeros, but if Iām left with Spidy/Chris I feel alot less confident.
Should I switch the first spot with Zero and 2nd as Spidy, or just keep it the same? I thought of learning Dante, but then I realised I hate him with a passion so thats out of the question.
Neither are very good teams, so it doesnāt really matter.
Soooo Qs about hit confirms:
Off of jam session hits, what are the the go-to hit confirms for Zero? Like off midscreen, normal and super jump height, and corner normal and super jump height?
I tend to have buster charged whenever I want to use Jam session, so that I can super jump j.m j.m j.h j.s xx buster and continue from there. If you hit them with Jam session on the ground, just launch them.
Buster xx L Hienkyaku/L Raikousen is pretty much universal.
Does anyone have any advice on Zeroās neutral game? Iām a new Zero player so Iām still learning how to open people up. Right now I usually just go for a M. lightning xx buster and then L. lightning and stuff like that. Do I need to make more use of his command dashes?
Thread hasnāt been posted in since January, but the information is still accurate:
1.Are you suppose to charge your buster outside of combos or just when you begin the combo?
2. How do I begin combos starting with Low if I am already charging my buster?
1.Charge at ALL times.
2. Switch charge to a different button like H. Itāll take time to get used to but it quickly becomes second nature switching charge on the fly without thinking about it. i.e. holding charge with H, as soon as you press L, keep hold of L and let go of H.
If you have a charged buster, you can cancel out of pretty much anything to make yourself safe, release it at opportune moments then follow it up with Hienkyaku or Raikousen for a full combo, and confirm from a random hit at super jump height. If you are not charging your buster at all times, you lose all of these benefits.
Thank you both for responding but I have a few more questions. What move are you suppose to do when you gonna switch charge?
I need anti Nova tech badly Iām getting bet by bad players just because the matchup is dumb mainly my brother hes starting to beat me now but the guy cant block or space or do shit except J.h and cr.m and the fucked up thing is it works because Nova is scrubby like that
Hey guys can I please get some advice on the spencer matchup, I run Zero(a)/Dante(a)/Sentinel(a).
It just feels as if I can never really call sent assist and I tend to loose my charge when the douche hits me with dat zip-line. I know the āproperā punish is to grab him but they manage to tech my air grabs with option select forward C (after a horizontal zip-line in the air) and then i loose my charge yet again (and worse, sometimes fall into his projectile/beam assist). Is there a consistent way around air horizontal zip forward backed up with pretty much any horizontal assist (hawkeye, task, magnus, doom, etc) without having to go to superjump height?
As for diagonal zip-lines I try to avoid ground grabs since I am too much of a fraud to actually combo off them, and I can only punish when they whiff and no assist were on screen. Basically this all forces me to super jump height, and even though Zero is very comfortable there, grapples (or the threat of them) keep me honest without pressing too much stuff.
I was really surprised to read in the spencer forums that a lot of them consider Zero one of his worst matchups, so thatās kind of what lead me to post here since I am obviously playing the matchup wrong.
Please my brethren, I am sweating salt shakers already!
PS. I know these are the Zero forums but since most of you play Dante anyways any advice for the Spencer vs Dante matchup?
you need to know the positioning to get in the air but be out of his grapple area. i like to be a little higher than where his m grapple can get me, from there i can manuever with command dashes and harrass him with busters and L lightnings. dont be afraid to call dante when youre in a comfortable range, and try to punish his assists any time you can. scare him so he wont call it to cover his approach, itāll make his neutral game much much weaker.
about the assists, i love doing buster into genmu zero to really let em know zero doesnt wanna see that assist.
dante shits on him with million carats and st M antiair, pretty easy matchup
bait out his unsafe moves with buster cancels and punish accordingly. if you see him using energy javelin, M hienkyaku in there and buster cancel to negate the tracking and blow him up. you just need to watch out for the tackle and trijump short.
Million Carats Anti-Airā¦ that is very interesting indeed, never thought of that before
thanks Masa Iāll try those strategies as soon as I get home
You can pester spencers that are zip happy w/ green buster and level 1 busters as well
i like pestering every char with lv1 and 2, not as good as vanilla but still gdlk. just cant go ham with it cuz you wont have lv3 when you need it
