Update: PNWMajors CVS2 will be on PS2: Due to popular demand

I need to know we have at least 5 discs. No maybes. It has to be for sure and I have to know who they are coming from at that they will be there on time. It sounds like you have 5 now, but I need you to make sure.

Well like I said some of them might not be disks… just games that are playing on ps2. You know mods and stuff… (please don’t get banned) thats why I was wondering if you needed disks. But I’ll call around tomorrow and get you the total number.

Edit: Jetay can I count you as 1 then for sure? I assume yes but just going to double check.

Cvs 2 disks
Ross - 2

i will definitely bring my disc if it will be on ps2. i plan on getting in seattle at like noon.
just to add to fatbear’s list, i think converters DO lag slightly. or maybe they just get rid of the lag im used to. im not sure but i think playing with them is different than playing on ps2. i also think darbish’s 3rd party pcb is different too, so maybe im just crazy.
dont get me wrong though, if its just too much work to play on ps2 then ill play on dc on the tournament date and not say a thing.

I can bring my PS2 version. Let me know, yo.

Sounds like we have a few disks.

Tepid
FMR - 2? Do you have 2 disks yourself? Just going to count one until you respond.
Jetay
Tau

Thats 4. That should be pretty good. 5 would be better. I would like to have 5 more, but I we can make do with 4.

Alright, it will be on PS2.

count me in

Brento: I got your message.

I can easily bring 3 TVs and a PS2, but I’d need some assurance they’d not get lost. As for delay, I know for a fact that at least in GG, it doesn’t seem to happen. Don’t see why it would, running from HD allows games to run faster.

As for the power strips, I actually don’t know exactly where they are, but I’ll look. No promises on that one, sorry.

No I’m bringing two disks. I’ll the random select club disk and my own personal copy. Shouldn’t be a problem.

<3 brento box!

Also I will bring you powerstrips if I remember and if I can have them back.

Thanks a lot Digital. It looks like we are getting an abundance of TV’s. You may just want to bring two or even one if it will be easier for you. I will let you know for sure by Thursday.

The plan is to make sure everyone leaves with exactly what they brought. No one should expect to bring their stuff and not leave with it.

Practice up!

Why wouldn’t it not be on the dreamcast though.

Edit: Why the PS2

I would like to thank the people that are bringing PS2 CvS2 discs. You have saved me ten dollars. =]

To cut out the need of converters, that may introduce elements of lag into the gameplay as well as pose a risk for the dreamcasts. Also to use a version that some feel is closer to the arcade than the DC version.

I just think people want to do bison combos on desert stage.

I hope thats not the case.

I can have mandel do that on the spot on the dc version.

Is there lag anywhere else then the desert stage.

rain stage. In general when you do the custom according to tau and fatbear. Also i just don’t want to have to do already finicky link combos on something that may add extra lag.

i dont think the rain stage lags any more than any other stage. its just damn annoying because its too dark. they lightened it and zoomed out a little on the ps2 version and it is much easier to see. although, the rain stage was never really an issue cause its not unlocked unless some cheaters like samb felt like putting in their memory cards and playing with ex1 groove.

Isn’t yours the EO version, though? Correct me if I’m wrong, but doesn’t the EO edition have balanced gameplay, removing the roll cancel and some other things?

(Keep in mind, I know nothing about CVS2, so this is just hearsay)

EO was XBOX and GC only IIRC plus you had to choose EO mode.

The reason it was so retarded was that all special moves could be mapped to the right analog stick, combo-ing in this mode is like playing super punchout with the super punch being analog lol. If you could roll cancel it would just require one tap of the analog for perfect roll canceled moves…

I would love the DC version but whatever.

I think it’s preference…

EO-ism, included in the EO editions, was stupid because of the control issues.

But it also had tweaked gameplay for ALL grooves. No more roll-canceling, etc.

I will bring one copy of CvS2 for PS2 then.
