Forte is amazing. dashing, double jumps, and multi-angle shooting!! truly Dr. Wily was the real robotics genius. they should have just called the game Forte & Forte because I dont even think about using megaman, sure megaman has stronger firepower and the slide but the dash is better. Plus Gospel (Treble) is cooler than Rush.

-Final Fantasy 8 is overrated. Actually, I think 8 sucked. Wack story and way too easy. I don’t know how some think it’s better than 7.
-I agree, Square-Enix is garbage compared to Square’s old days.
-Fuck yeah, Vyse is the shit. Skies of Arcadia one of THE best RPGs ever made.
-Grandia 2 was the shit, even though it was quite easy. The music owned.
-Halo series waaaay motherfuckin overrated… Seriously… Unreal Tourny anyone? Quake? Yeah we were here first.
-LttP best Zelda ever. OoT’s Hyrule Field was so fucking dull and boring.
Wind Waker was too short.
-GTA games are fun for a bit, then get boring.
-Shining Force series (The SRPG ones for Genesis and Saturn) fucking owns all SRPGs. Screw that FFT shit.
-Every other Shining game after that, which are the cheesy hack n slash ones from PS2 and on , sucks big donkey nuts. Not even deserving of a horse.

Sonic CD is overrated. The only reason it gets so much praise is because it’s a rare game on an even rarer system, the time travel elements, and zomg Metal Sonic race. And this is from someone who likes the game.

Big the Cat is one of the coolest Sonic characters ever. The only reason many people don’t like him are his fishing segments in Sonic Adventure.

No, Super Sonic does not need to be playable in regular stages. When Sonic Team learns how to design less linear stages that can incorporate his speed without ramming into walls every five seconds or falling down pits even quicker than that, then we’ll talk.

While I’m on the subject, kill the Super Sonic fights, SEGA. The Doomsday Zone was beast, and the Perfect Chaos fight was epic; everything after that was just stale.

Kirby Super Star is overrated. While there’s damn good variety, every time I play it, I get the feeling that I’m playing several game demos, instead of a full-fledged product. And half of the abilities are fucking useless. Who gives a shit about multiple powers if they no practical use? Don’t get me wrong; I love the game to death, but I’d rather be playing Kirby’s Adventure or Dream Land 3.

More RPGs should take notes from Phantasy Star 4:
–> a good story that’s terse enough to get the point across without being long-winded, and still having awesome cutscenes that have impact
–> a plausible reason as to why the party is only restricted to a certain number of members (I think this was done better than Chrono Trigger, honestly)
–> regular enemies that can kick your ass / can’t just mow through by selecting attack all day
–> fucking macros
–> attacks that are flashy, but don’t take sixty years to execute
–> a final boss that’s actually difficult (and the most powerful boss in the game)

I’m fine with flashy attacks as long as they allow you to skip the damn animation when you want to… Like Knights of the Round from FF7 when fighting Ruby Weapon. Good thing I played it on psx emulator and it had a frame skip button.

Time travel + Non-linear RPG’s = Match made in heaven.
-Characters from different era’s and therefore totally different cultures.
-Altering the past to unlock something in the future.
-Using future technology from the future to unlock something in the past.
It’s a crime that Chrono Trigger is the only game to fully take advantage. Another game that uses these concepts (or better yet, a SEQUEL) made in a post-SNES generation is pretty much on every CT fan’s wish-list. I was hoping that Chrono Cross was that game. It was not, and although it was a really good game, it was still a disappointment.

Interesting premise, but that alone cannot save the game. Decent music too, and nice graphics. Oh, and I believe this game also had New Game +? It’s been years since I played, but New Game + is always good.
Anyway, the game does suck overall. Never saw what was so great about it (see also: a lot of other SNES RPGs).
Supersonic not being playable in all stages? I agree. Definately. It cheapens the game play and may hurt the game play instead of enhances it. Kills super sonic fights? BLASPHEMY!!!

I hated the in and out mech battle system. They should have just suck with one or the other. Citan was awesome but pretty much every other character was ass.
I didn’t like the no mech battle system but I think that’s partially because I played Legend of Legaia first. But I just couldn’t get into it with out thinking “OMG HIDDEN ART! :3”
Just the entire game was so…ugh to me. I beat it in like a week and sold it on ebay.
