Ride to Hell: Retributon really gave Sonic 06 a run for itās money in regards to worst game of all time though. Sonic 06 is still worse solely because of that really weird furry fuel kiss between sonic and out of place human bitch
This actually provides data on another theory of mine. Gaming has 3 fazes. Learning, mastering, and exploiting. In fact you can apply this to almost anything. With learning and mastering being self-explanatory, exploiting is the exact opposite of mastering. Like asking āwhyā as to āwhy notā. Now it is commonly known as ābreaking the gameā. That video is a great example. I speed runner could make this game into poetry in motion. Thank you.
As for worst game of all time Sonic 06ā gets beat by a lot of shit. The Activison Walking Dead, ET, Sonic 3D Blast, HeadHunter, Quest 64, Alex Kidd, Sonic R, Shaq Fu, Clayfighters, Sonic Spinball, a bunch of shitty MK clones, Bubsy 3D, Hard Drivinā, War Gods, the majority of MK games.
I like Sonic Spinball too. Iām a sucker for non-simulation pinball games and I like Sonic. Nowhere near as good as āDemon/Devil somethingā and āAlien somethingā on Megadrive and PCengine, but still fun nonetheless.
If youāve seen me play I wouldnāt call anything a mixup lol.
I want that dude Draco to be playable. the one from Sen. He was a slick character, that was unplayable for whatever reason. I would have loved to play a cowboy using a repeater in Samurai showdown thatās so cool.
Not sure if this is an unpopular opinion or not, but anytime I play a game that has a wide variety of characters to choose from, I NEVER pick the main/mascot character of that game/series. If itās a game like Mario Kart, Iāll never pick Mario. Sonic Adventure lets me choose between 6 characters. Iāll only pick Sonic for the story but Iāll use the other characters much more frequently. Thereās 40+ characters in AE. Like hell Iām only gonna pick Ryu⦠The only exception is Akira Yuki from Virtua Fighter. I love his fighting style so I canāt not pick him lol. But main characters are just boring to me imo. The other side characters always have more interesting skills/attributes than the main one. The main character is always well-rounded. Well-rounded is boring as fuck. Give me a technical character so Iāll be forced to put in more work. Thatās more fun to me.
I feel the same, at least when it comes to fighting games. I used to āmainā shotos because I could transition from one game to another quite well and this is back when I didnāt have much money and sometimes could only play said games at a friends house or a few goes on the arcade machine. When SF4 came out and I had people to play against after years of no competition I started with Ken and Sagat.
As my game levelled up I got so bored, it was like āIāve done this all beforeā. Since then every new fighting game I will generally just skip the āshotoā. The result of using them tends to be the same, āthey are a good character, but I donāt enjoy using them.ā, fuck that, gimme my Vipers, Lambdas, Valkenhayns, Elizabeths and Dorothys plzkthxbai.
A good default/main/shoto character is a good thing though, especially for bringing/easing in new players.
Unpopular opinion: I do think games should try to appeal to more people, fighting games included.*
*Not so unpopular though: I donāt think appealing to more people should be at the expense of the core fans or gameplay. See Bayonetta (hard as fuck mode for those that want it, one button mode for those that donāt) or Phantom Breaker Extra (no motions for specials so anyone can āgetā the game, but has actual depth so there is still a game worth playing despite lack of 641236+PP or [1]319+KKK requirements).
