Ill be dead honest, when i scrolled down for the rest of that picture i was expecting kanji. Because that kinda looks like it could be the cover to a SF doujin just off of art style and character positioning alone.

Unpopular opinion…Skull Girls got over hyped as the savior of FGs… not to say it’s a bad game, but alot of people put so much stock into it to be taking SF4/UMVC3 that with it being pushed back, then brought back into the spot light, then pushed back again… now it’s been put into the niche/anime game realm where only day 1 folks play hardcore.

I never even heard that it had a rep like that. That must’ve been some time before i caught wind of SkullGirls. Perhaps its from the IPS system it was bringing to the table

Are you assuming that i missed the text at the top left corner? Because i didnt. Japanese are no strangers to just randomly throwing in English text in the cover/inside page of an adult manga.

I was just asking myself wtf kanji and SF doujin was supposed to mean.

A doujin is basically fan fiction. Some of them are porn. Some of them aren’t. The Porn Doujins of R. Mika are actually pretty good. And Kanji is a japanese writing system.

I’m sure some people hate him because he wins with a cheap team and that’s obviously a scrubbyass mindset, but I think most people hate on him for his bad attitude. He’s rage quitted mid match several times, has blamed his losses on monitor lag when no one else did, and when he loses he often complains about how cheap and unfair the team/character/game is. So now you should understand the hate.

The Final Fantasy series as a whole is overrated. You can count on one hand the number of FF games that are actually good, and those few games keep the rest of them afloat. People play them hoping they’ll be as good as the good ones.

It was overrated by the fanbase pre-release. I remember the threads in FCD that treated it like the 2nd coming and promoting it as the true sequel to MvC2 and other crap like that. Such aggressive promotion almost made me avoid the game.

The Skull Girls community is a great community. I would define them as being different from the Anime Fighter community. The game just doesn’t get me hype. I could be secretly sexist and just don’t want to play as chicks so I’m really looking forward to Big Band.

That’s because Square was on the verge of bankrupcy back in 1987, and Final Fantasy was literally meant to be their last game, hence the “Final” in the name. Contrary to their expectations, though, the game sold like gangbusters and saved the company, and they naturally decided to keep the name for the sequels.

And while I agree that the FF series as a whole is far from perfect, I must say that the popularity of its rival franchise, the Dragon Quest series, at least in its native homeland of Japan, is something that astounds me even more. I mean, how the fuck could people enjoy a tedious grindfest of a game where you have to open a menu every single freaking time you want to talk to an NPC or even go up and down stairs ? And the worst thing about it is… they somehow managed to keep this same crappy interface FOR SEVEN GAMES STRAIGHT! X_X

I was never into Disney cartoons really. Cartoon Network got its claws into me early, and by the time i seen disney cartoons I though they were dumb. Movies were a different story though. Fuckin love stuff like Lion King. Anything that was a show I didnt really care for. Daffy Duck and Mickey Mouse and things of that sort didnt really interest me.

I’m not a big disney guy, and I’ve barely played any FF, but for some reason I really liked KH 1&2. There’s just something crazy about these two franchises even interacting with each other, that is, before the story got super tropey and up it’s own ass.
