Xbox and Xbox 360 are the shittiest platforms of the past two generations. Thereās less than 9 games I want to play on both consoles combined that I canāt play elsewhere or on a PC.
Hardware of both consoles are shit too, even the pads. They donāt last. Hardware being prone to failure(seemingly on purpose) I can kind of understandā¦but fucking pads dying? Come on.
Original Xbox introduced DLC and online paywalls. Those have both been huge negatives to gaming in general these past years.
Only thing thatād be left is PC gaming. While I mostly PC gamed last gen(Diablo 2 all day, Quake 3, Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Soldier of Fortune 2, etc. etc.) I still had to take breaks from the greatness of PC gaming at the time to console game+play portables.
Online paywalls was by the Publishers, not Microsoft. And I donāt like have to pay to play online on a console but once you take into the logistics of hosting those servers it makes sense. They wouldnāt have this problem if players could host through their game console or setup another console as a server but you can guess that the Microsoft/Sony want control over that and/or the console insāt powerful enough to do that. I like how Sony does it.

I think a lot of the folks who got bored with LoSās combat werenāt using half the moves. Once you unlock everything, Gabriel is a fucking MACHINE, especially with a lot of the aerial stuff.
Because 9/10 in my experience, when someone hates an action game, itās usually cause theyāre bad at it. The combat is awesome if you use more than 3 of Gabeās moves. If anything, the combat is one of the high points of the game.
Lament was decent, but Iām betting you didnāt play the 64 Castlevania games much or at all. If you did, youād know where a lot of LoSā source material comes from. I played the hell outta those games (theyāre among my favorite CV games) and I was spotting things left and right that had come from previous CV games.
So you found the sword wielding ghosts, the vampires, the ghouls, the wargs, etc āslow and plodding?ā Did you play the game on a higher difficulty level than normal? Some of the enemies are more aggressive on Paladin.
I liked the OST. It wasnāt the best CV OST ever, but it wasnāt supposed to be an out-front thing like a lot of the 2D games were. It was supposed to help set the mood not overtake it. Post Chapter 3, a lot of the locales were VERY Castlevania and in a way it was supposed to drive home the point about Gabrielās quest being a lonely one.
Youāre welcome to your opinion, but it sounds to me like you went into the game wanting to dislike it.

Lol. I must be the only one that actually likes the 360 controller and can put it to some good use in fgs. It took some time to get accustomed to it, but I canāt play fighting games without it. I even use it for ggpo. An unpopular opinion for real.

Infamous was good, but it was pretty different from DS1. If the games arenāt similar in design, I wonāt be fanboy enough to pit them against each other and I donāt see why other people do so. Thatās like pitting MK9 vs GG. You canāt do it.
