UNofficial names for moves and tactics in street fighter

in SF3, when yun yelled Genei Jin - we called his “CLAY AIKEN”.

I always assumed chicken wing was a reference to the way Fei’s legs look when he does the move.

Salty is an old saying. Etymology online says:
c.1440, “tasting of salt, impregnated with salt,” from salt. Meaning “racy” is from 1866, from salt in the sense of “that which gives life or pungency” (1573, originally of words or wit).** U.S. slang sense of “angry, irritated” is first attested 1938, especially in phrase jump salty “to unexpectedly become enraged.”**

I actually though mexican upper referred to shotos cl. fp in 3s… Whatev, heard it before.
SpoD: Stun Palm of Doom in VF

That you couldn’t beat me with. XD

Sorry, had to do it. offers gift as a peace offering

I too have always called it a Mexican uppercut!

Edit: Huh I thought it was more well known of a name than it apparently is, I’ve always called low fierce that and the guys I play with do too, and when I refer to it no one’s every said anything either, and LTP up Hawk is not Mexican Upper :arazz:

I thought Mexican uppercut was also more widely used. Been using that amazing term for a while.

it’s widely used for older players, but for the new players that were introduced to the scene due to SFIV, it may be alien to them, and so i figured this would help them out with lingo/terms they may hear but are too shy to ask or couldn’t get the answers to via google.

it makes more sense though lol

The only one I really use is:

saauuusage = E.Honda’s headbutt

Ryu’s F+HP is the abortion punch.

Someone earlier mentioned something about some OG player doing something–from what I’ve gathered, it’s called a mexican uppercut because it’s a lazy shoryuken. It’s meant to be racially insulting.

Butt Splash from E Honda, and Splash for fuerte is all i know of, rest have been mentioned.

I will next time, don’t you worry

Spiral Arrow=Spobble Bobble.
