Kazuya’s spinning demon - is block my only friend here? Tried to punish it but I just get kicked in the face. Blocking seems to work but are there any other tools in Lee’s handbag to deal with this?
Devil Jin’s Air Shenanigans - I don’t fully know how to deal with his air game. Any pointers? Things to look out for in general?
Alisa’s Air Shenanigans - same thing. Flying shenanigans give me grief - don’t get much practice vs them.
Thanks in advance!
p.s; I fought the ‘‘best’’ law (shotgunking99 or something?) and one of the ‘‘best’’ Anna’s and Xiaoyou’s on XBL today (one of them was called cynic I believe, not sure of the other one); the ass-kicking I received was humbling and inspiring. I got a few rounds off the Anna player, but the other two destroyed me. Good times.
(note: by ‘‘best’’ I mean highest ranking on leaderboards)
The best Law in America right now is probably RIP. The best Anna is probably like 200yen, Not these random guys you are talking about and the best Ling player lives here in Upstate New York.
I’m not sure what Kazuya’s spinning demon thing is but I’m assuming you mean u/f+4444. Low parry is your friend here.
If he’s in the air u/fn4 will catch Devil Jin for a combo.
Hehehe I fought a few DJ’s today and both tried their silly air games; got em both as I’ve figured out what to do. U/fn4 works, and so does running towards them and flip kicking (or 4 to flip kick).
I didn’t realise how quickly you can adjust to fighting his aerial game.
As far as I know no good Tekken players are even on Xbox. So whatever, as if leader boards ONLINE mean anything. If you live in the UK find Ryan Hart or anyone from the Tekken scene around there. I’m not sure where they are in the UK or where you are but online and playing by yourself wont get you far. I just am in practice mode all the time testing stuff and working on making my combos consistant.
Whats the trick to multiple back 2’s in combos? like i seen a few with like… close to 8 of them.
I have been trying like… b+2~f x n but it seems that i cancel the mist step with the back to w/e the fuck he got new this time around. Any help is much appreciated.
his B+2 wall carry is good stuff but it’s really getting the timing down and knowing when the MS is fully over so you can do another B+2
all I can say is practice on knowing when MS ends so you won’t end up coming out with Lee backing up. It didn’t take long for me to get use to it. The trick is mixing it in with 1,2~MS to carry the opponent to the wall.
it also helps to do d+2 after a launcher as it launches them back up a bit. Otherwise stick with something like 12~MS, b+2 to have them far enough yet close enough for the punch to connect.
Not much of a offline presence where I live, so online is all I got. That being said, I’ve stopped playing ranked matches online - far too much input delay. I’m sticking with Ghost/offline mode for now.
The timing on b+2fn might as well be a just frame. The window is very small. Press b+2 too early nothing will happen, press and hold back for any length of time Lee will just block, press b+2 too late and it will just miss.
There is a rhythem to it. Best thing to do is just go in practice mode a remember two things, a.) Just tap backwards don’t hold it at all, b.) It’s always better to do it later than sooner.
this just in… after a mist illusion dodge Lee can followup with a standing 4… and simple spinning roundhouse crack to the face as the opponent turns around… and it counts as a counter hit aswell
and just to throw it out there… im having lots of fun with the duck back out of MS move… it’s kinda a back sway but with no sidestep options… you dodge incoming high attacks and get a nice window to counterattack… plus while your in the MS back sway stance you get a few attacks that it can shift into like the low hitting 4 sweep kick
That 4 out of punch parry is not guaranteed. It can be ducked. Lee only gets a free mixup out of PP. Well he does have guaranteed damage but it’s not very viable.
And doing sway will get you launched against someone good.
if you’re going to do random sways, make sure you’re at least spacing right. Don’t sit there playing around with MS/sways in the opponents face without trying to attack. Play mind games with it from a distance if you must.
also the low sweep and all other WS attacks come out during the MS back sway. You have to cancel the back sway ASAP with whatever input. Not hard really.
I really wish Lee could just Mist Step back without going forward first. I’ve always wanted to have this in the game. However because it’s not it’s really not too viable to ever do Mist Step back to dodge stuff.
Also like Eiji said Punch Parry only guarantees d+44. Punch parry however gives you pretty decent mix up that can lead pretty decent damage. Punch Parry in this game is gay though cause they gave him that stupid kick after it which if you enter any 4 move too fast you’ll get instead.
I use Punch Parry a decent amount now a days. Never used to use it at all till the end of the DR era when I found out how good it could be. It’s an under utilized Lee tool.
Actually Lee’s guaranteed PP damage is off of d/f+1,2,2 leaving you at - 3 or d/f+1,2 leaving you at -1 or you can just do d/f+1 to be +7, but I’d rather go for a mixup. If they wanna duck. Free knee or d/f+3,2,3. Knee will also crush dick punches. If they don’t duck then the 4 is guaranteed.
not much I can really say on it honestly. at least not without face to face showing.
it might help to try out his other moves that come off of MS with b input. (mainly b+1,1 as that used to be the alternative mixup with 12MS~) Might help at least with the timing on when to input the back command.
thank you, idk what the fuck is wrong with me and why i cant get it down consistently, i really really want to get this down because i love lee and it looks so incredibly bad ass to pull out a long ass carry.
honestly if you can’t get it down so much, I wouldn’t worry so much on it. Granted it sure does help, but Lee still carries like hell with just the simple 12MS~. If you must get that wall splat and 1,2 is out of range, end it with 3,4 after a Mist step to push them back for a wall splat (granted 1,2 doesn’t reach anymore.)
Try to do it to a standing opponent until you can get the rhythm down. Then try it while they’re in the air. On most characters you can get up to 7 b+2’s
