This logic attempts to truncate all discussion on a topic by prioritizing other things, claiming that we cannot discuss or actively address a topic while something else greater exists. The problem here is that if this is true we basically cannot discuss anything except for whatever happens to be the worst or most pressing matter. It ignores the fact that people often seek discourse on things that are not the most serious problem that exists, as more serious problems are often far harder to address and solve. It would be like telling a cancer patient they shouldn’t be concerned about the splinter in their finger because they have cancer.
