it sounds like the only person who isnt just mad at losing to wesker on this thread is jin, wesker is no god. even if he wishes he was. hes stil not even as “good” as vanilla wolvie. all u hav to do is study ur shit and maybe ul get better, enough to maybe even beat a wesker! 
wouldnt that be great. theres a point wen you just know what wesker is gonna do, it doesnt really take much more then playin against him and not getting so very frantically frustrated.
If you know all your match-ups than technically you know what every character will do… Doesn’t mean you’ll win or be even able to block a 50/50 mix-up though. I know EXACTLY what Phoenix will do, doesn’t mean I can always stop her from getting 5 bars and getting my ass handed to me by dark phoenix.
But, to an extent I see what your saying… I’ll sometimes compare Wesker to vanilla sf4 Ryu in that he is a very strong character with a few bad match-ups but you play against the guy so much that you know the fight, know all his tricks and what to expect for the most part. Still didn’t stop him from being a strong character though.

no doubt weskers a strong caracter, there has to be something there! it wouldnt be marvel 3 if wesker wasnt there and stil good! i just mean to say theres no way hes as godlike as people keep saying, he had holes in vanilla nd now hes got a feww more. i just hate when people complain bout a caracter, learn the match up nd do ur best, if u just cant win your just not good. thats how i see it. nothing is impossible in marvel! especially in ultimate…except playing tron, that’s kinda just suicide if not impossible.
I think the issue revolves more around how derp braindead effective he is (takes little to no effort to be effeciant and get results with him) than how actually good he is. I dont think there has been a lower risk-higher reward character than MvC3 Wesker than in any fighting game ever.

I still think Vanilla Wolvie was easier to use than any version of Wesker but…yeah. Both stupid easy to be instantly effective with. Unlike Wolverine’s pure auto mode randomness at least Wesker you can fight off with a brain. Bad Weskers who dont call assists are much less scary than Vanilla Wolvie without assists who was still monstrous. Wesker just has extremely solid footsies and pressure with assists and easy combos.
I still can’t see him in S tier though because he technically still has to hit you more than once to kill you most of the time unless people purposely set up the team so he DHC’s in 2nd with maximum wesker. Even then you’re still relying on glasses falling off to kill people in one combo when other characters can still do it without going through such procedures. Unlike Dante he flat out lost tools he used to have that were a big deal in Vanilla. Dante kept all of his tools and got more tools. A few of his tools got nerfed a bit but still very effective and not completely taken from him as the case with Wesker.
Even if Dante has to reset you to kill you…what does he really care? He has broken mix ups with assists and/or devil trigger that will get you hit easily and his normals with correct spacing pretty much can’t be contested with outside of point blank range. Every single one of his normals are win all the time during active frames BS disjointed boxes. Shouldn’t have too much problem going for a reset when you’re gonna win any way.
The whole Wesker thing is just more salt about how easy to he is to play rather than how good he actually is in comparison to the other characters.
Yeah, that was harsh. The fact that people are so oblivious just makes my blood boil though. He’s the reason fighters suck nowadays and he doesn’t even know it.
The issue is that people get butthurt when you talk shit about “their” character. Just because you stuck with him in Vanilla doesn’t make him less derp in chocolate. People need to realize that we aren’t saying YOU as a player are derp, we’re saying the character you are using is and that’s not your fault. If you do what it takes to win then so be it. Just keep in mind, if we beat you with a Morrigan, Wright, Hisien-ko team against your level 3 X-factor Dark Wesker, we’re gonna gloat a lot.
iv actually been replacing wesker with firebrand recently, i just do the same routine over and over again. sure i stil play em online, but meh…hes wesker, il always play him cuz hes my 2nd fav resident evil caracter of al time, after leon kennedy ofcourse ;D but watevez, you just have to play against the caracters regardless of wat u do. theres nothing to do but get better, enough so that you dont lose to anybody then there is no complaint. rite? i mean, that’s essentially the easiest and hardest way to get over things like scary caracters.
lol @ people mad because we use wesker. so fucking what if he’s braindead? it’d not our fault that capcom made this baby ass character for people to use. i’ll gladly admit that i barely work hard for my victories with albert. if anything, ya’ll some idiots for refusing to play such an effective braindead character.
Im one of those idiots. For me I get 0 satisfaction winning with him on my team. When im not having fun while im winning thats a problem.
Plus he makes me lazy in other games… I noticed in Vanilla my execution dropped for other games when I used him. When I stopped I was back up to where I originally was.
Played him since the begining of Vanilla since he got the best one-liners from Umbrella Chronicles…
And I’m happy with the buffs, but everything has to end and he will get nerfed and I will need to get used to…
