a while ago at something or other F.Champ was talking about how there’s not really much time to practice anymore if you’re the kind of person (ie sponsored) that goes to most/all of the events, you get your practice at the events.
At the moment, ill definitely give it dios x, his doom is incredibly solid and quite frankly clock just doesn’t look very solid at all with any of his characters. And he has the result to prove it, he came second at that socal tourney(that clock was present at) and only didn’t get first because combofiend is combofiend. Dios imo is the better doom, probably the better player and is honestly the most underrated umvc 3 player at the moment. Im hoping he has a good showing at SCR and bar fights so peeps can start giving him his props.
This right here, Im not worried about ultimate one bit, Im just salty I passed up on studying for that crappy tournament. I definitely think SCR is gonna have a much stronger showing. I hope some of the norcal guys show up to that though, would like to see chrisis running his firebrand team at a major.

lol I don’t think thats gonna be a balance patch, just something to deal with the glitches people keep finding. I could be wrong, and I wouldn’t mind seeing wesker get nerfed, but I don’t think he needs it tbh.
ShadyK is running Wolverine/Doom/Sent. I’m running Mags/Doom/Sent although Doom/Storm/Sent is stronger by design [better DHC synergy/THC synergy]. Doom/Sent is an incredibly strong combination and shuts the trenchcoat teleporters down hard. Wesker can’t really do much to smart Missiles + Drones zoning except jump > gun.
What we learned over the weekend:

I would mind because it would mean the work shy whiners won again. Also, but holy fuck, people ignoring the biggest problem. Imagine you have a friend who goes through a long series of shitty relationships with people who, once they’ve broken up with your friend, go on to have normal, happy relationships. You’d likely correctly asses that your friend is the common denominator in the shitty relationships and that they, not the people they where dating, where the one who needed to change. Well in this case your friend is X-Factor and his exes currently consist of Wolverine and Phoenix and he’s currently dating Wesker. Fix X-Factor, fix/remove TACs and we’ve got ourselves a solid game without needing to single out anyone character for gimping.

I’d love to see TACs get fixed in some way because they’re so bad right now. Other than that, they need to do something about the throw tech situation. Probably won’t do anything about either.
they need to rework throws entirely really, the best way would probably be 2-button throws. The throw mechanic (especially air throws) were a major reason why NEC was so damn slow and boring.
I do love it how people in all their pitchfork and torch Wesker fury are conveniently ignoring that the biggest issues with this game are and have always been systemic issues and not individual characters. I’d almost rather have the DHC trick over the current throw tech during recovery bollocks.

I agree with you on the x-factor thing, lvl 3 really needs to get toned down, shit is just too damn ridiculous at the moment. But I don’t agree with the “whiners” winning again. Im assuming your referring to sent getting nerfed in vanilla, as a sent player Ill be the first to tell you sent was too good to have 1.3 million points of health. Amazing normals, relatively good mobility, amazing damage(and this was before people learnt his fly/unfly combos and rocket punch loops) an amazing assist, amazing health, decent projectiles, pretty much the whole package. By comparison, you look at the character with the second most health in vanilla, he had worse normals, a worse projectile, worse health, worse damage, a worse assist, worse mobility and was just worse overall. I admit comparing thor to sentinel isn’t really fair, but you get my point do you not? Sentinel didn’t deserve to lose 400k points of health, but that brother deserved to get nerfed, can you imagine how terrifying rayrays sentinel would be if he had 400k extra points of health? If sent hadn’t got nerfed, he would still be the most popular character in the game because sure ammy/wesker/she-hulk/etc all gave him little issues here and there, but sent can take the jump gun shot pressure, the cold star pressure and the she-hulk combos, with 1.3 mill he can take a lot of gun shots to the face. But being able to do 1 mill in a single combo(with no DHC) meant he could kill all of them with a single hit while there isn’t a single character in the game that can do 1.3 million points of practical damage in a single combo.
Now on to the current issue, weske., I don’t think wesker is broken, heck I don’t even think he is the best in the game. I do think they should get rid of the whole glasses nonsense(and for the love of God fix the maximum wesker cross up nonsense please, that shit gets me so salty) but whether or not he gets nerfed Im not gonna lose much sleep over it. I do strongly agree with you that the real culprit here is lvl 3 x-factor, in its current state it is much too powerful. But I doubt its gonna get patched(although a man can hope). Just make the damage boost the same as lvl 1 x-factor but leave it as long as it is(or maybe increase the length a little since the damage would dip quite a bit)
Amen to the TAC thing, way more broken and random than just about anything in this game. I don’t even really mind x-factor that much. I hate it when it happens to me, but it happens in my favor as well, since it’s a utility. The TAC thing is however, completely luck/random based, and as a luckless individual who can never manage to guess right, even when it seems like there’s a pattern, there’s nothing I can do about them.
Glad to hear it’s not a balance patch though, that would be dumb at this stage. I feel confident the Wesker stuff will cool down once there’s enough time to flesh out new and changed characters. And if they do nerf him I hope they don’t do more than take his glasses buff away or tone it down, or maybe make it harder to keep the buff.
I pretty much mash down+s every time now, and I’m not ashamed to admit it. I’m not allowing you to get an extra meter so you can level 3 me, fuck that.
What’s sad is how often that strategy works for me. Stop being greedy, people.
