Hawkeye doesn’t beat Dorm free.

So all magneto did was perform a crucial part of a winning strategy? Dorm needs space to setup his game, and mags can earn it for him more easily than point dorm can. Remember that this is a team game after all. Look at the big picture, instead of just looking for reasons to act like your character sucks.
Does Hawkeye even beat Dorm? What’s the match up like? From what I know is that if either them start their zoning game with a strong assist behind them it’s hard for the other to deal with. 6-4?
I actually think Dormammu’s got the edge in the match up because his zoning game and mobility are stronger.
Yeah they’re FT15 set at SB stayed pretty close.
Can’t wait to see the archive on youtube. I actually stopped watching because I didn’t think FGTV was gonna do anything, but F.Champ actually had a real plan this time. I caught the match right before the reset and glad I watched the rest. Definitely best top 8 in a while and could have been better if Bee didn’t choke up.

Magneto’s job was to not lose first and win second. People underestimate the importance of a standoff against an opponents leading hand. Champ played it perfectly

Hey, you can play a patient zoning game against Morridoom with Nova/Strange too! Nova might be scrubby (tbh Magneto is quite scrubby too, his OS throw and other crap is just as good and easy to perform but more effective), but it doesn’t mean you have to play dumb.
Javelin/ Grav Blast and Bolts is hard for Morrigan to fight unless she already filled the screen of soul fist, also the presence of Nova’s touch of death off anything is something everyone have to respect (plus bolts beats missiles free). Nova/Strange can play good enough (anti) zoning against any team.
Anybody who’s winning matches against Chris G at this point isn’t playing scrubby anymore. The game is being played at a level where everyone has to do work now. There’s options against the heavy rush/OS characters, options against the projectile heavy ones, there isn’t just one thing that works against every player and team anymore.
I can’t be the only one thinking Chris played like he just really didn’t care right? His zoning was just hella not on point like it usually it is and his movement seemed lethargic.
This is the same guy who cries when he loses in his secondary games like AE. I would say he probably cared. Maybe wasn’t as good as F.Champ was playing, but Morrigan is slowly becoming easier to hit for people. Even J.Wong is dive kicking on top of her head regularly now which seemed impossible only months before.

This pretty much. It also irks me because everyone uses ChrisG’s performance to gauge Morrigan’s matchups and her endgame potential, since he’s really the only top-level Morrigan player and all (Xian’s Morrigan isn’t very good). As godlike as Chris is, even he has his bad days, and I still feel his Morrigan is a bit tame and lacking in a few areas at this stage of the meta.
Either way, bad day is different from not caring. You can use bad day for a lot of the times people lose in tournament…especially in Marvel. Plus, I thought anchor Vergil was supposed to be the “anti bad day” character? LOL.
no but Vergil winning means the other dude is having a bad day.

Lol at Magneto and scrubby even going in the same sentence. Also his throw range is prob half that of Nova’s and it only option selects with his air H–a good but nothing special normal. Nova’s throw leads into unscaled damage hard tags and his air H–one of the absolute best normals in the game. I’ve never seen Nova’s air H lose to anything but Dante’s well placed sword normals, Hulk’s armored H, and Morrigan’s DP. It’s also + as hell on block. It’s prob a top 5 normal.
People have been calling one frame throws/OS throws scrubby since the dark ages. Flash Metroid used to ridicule ST players like DSP and calling mashing on normal/throw option selects scrubby even though it’s otherwise a pretty prestigious game.
Chris G was simply on autopilot and has been this way for months. Can’t blame him for not being up to par after being so freakin dominant in the game. He constantly forgot about Dormammu’s Chaotic Flame DHC and Champ sniped out Doom several times and even killing him, which is uncharacteristic for Chris G to allow. Also, while Vergil is a great anchor, he provides no support for Morrigan at all. Magneto certainly was key in this matchup, but his job was as stated earlier, to not lose, it was Dormammu’s job to come in as the work-horse and finish the job, which he did. Chris will be back, he just needs to remember he’s not invincible.
Chris G just needs to move to FGTV and they can play FT100s forever and ever, and no one will watch anything else ever again.
Yeah I agree, Chris hasn’t really been so hot after Evo. I think the matches with Jwong/Nemo kind of demoralized him a bit. People have been saying how good he is at adapting but lately he hasn’t been showing that. He has just stuck with the same game plan so far.

So basically you’re saying the lesson Champ had to learn before Evo, is the lesson Chris G is learning for himself now. The way Mag worked for Dorm sounds like the way Storm worked for Sent in 2.
