Everybody’s a renegade for life

Like I’m going to listen to an interview by champ
His game play is far superior to his shitty oratory
Magneto weaved through all that shit. While yes, he piloted magneto very well. . . no other character can move around like that–none. I don’t get what’s wrong with being a battery either. Throughout most of the set, dorm was actually getting cornered and pooped on, which is why he kept randomly tagging. Magneto was the true victor here, whether he admits it or not. He has the best mobility in the game, an admirable zoning game, a great assist, tac infinites, and he basically always kills if your team is good. It is actually sad that this magneto sucks cult was originally a troll, and now it is actually being taken seriously. There is a clear difference in magneto skill levels because he has so many tools, and it was blatantly obvious that Champ knew what he was doing in that matchup while Neo didn’t. Imo this is the most we’ve seen someone dominate chris g aside from when he plays like shit (ie. vs nemo). In today’s GF set, he was actually playing solidly.

Damn, making fun of a guy for something he hasn’t done yet. FGC is rough man.

Yeah but the snapping in and killing part isnt that easy. I cant remember what champ was doing to mixup vergil on incoming but if it was good enough to beat Chris G’s defense then Champ was probably outplaying him. Its not as simple as just snap and kill, Doom/Vergil gets so much momentum if he squirms out of your incoming setups and escapes, and vergil has quite a few options to squirm out. And then youve probably lost the game. If your vergil gets killed off a snap then you were probably outplayed. You cant just say the solution to a character is simply outplay them though.

Magneto can stall big whoop. He still loses the matchup. Half the time magneto got a hit was wild all in flailing.

Pretty sure Storm’s/Trish’s air movement are better if not on par with Mags.

Which would make the game a lot more fun. It also means the game isn’t quite as bad as people claim it is. You can’t keep running the same thing expecting to get different results. I mean at a certain point I have to accept that running Magneto against Nova is a terrible idea for example. I’m glad to see changes like Strange becoming more popular. The game stays fresh that way.

That’s the whole point of the game. Outplay the person at the start of the round. Except before people would just try to beat the team like Zero does and burn XF killing Morrigan and landing a hit on Doom then XF3 Vergil comes down. Forcing Vergil to come in and die with only XF1/2 available gives you better chances to win than just trying to kill the cast one at a time like regular teams.

It’s definitely part of the process of outplaying the player and getting rid of their most powerful option. It’s going to get to a point where if you aren’t playing like Zero, you have to kill Vergil first, then kill the rest of the team.

Moving around with Magneto and doing mag blasts like he does isn’t easy. Being able to lame people out for as long as he does with Dorm without getting smacked with buttons isn’t easy. High level in every game is about doing shit that isn’t easy. Not every player is going to be good enough to snipe out Chris’ Morrigan, snap in and kill off his Vergil and take down the rest of the team…but that’s a requirement.

Better yet give him Nova’s throw range. There was so many opportunities Champ could of gotten air throws on Morrigan, but backed off because of the fear of shell kick.

Well, not really. He can press a button, do Dimensional Slash, or XFC. That’s about it. With his install super he can get out of almost anything but no one does DT -> raw tag off Stinger -> Round Trip to get him in the anchor spot.

Trish, storm, phoenix all have similar movement to maggy

He wasn’t snapping vergil in rather chris hard tagging vergil and running into spells, missiles and mag cr.l or magnetic blast

@rokmode, stop getting trolled.

Just understand that all the top 20 characters can potentially destroy the other player team according to player execution level and knowledge of matchups

Chrisg would do SOOO much better with his team against Mag/Dorm/Doom with just exchanging Vergil for Dr Doom in second position. Wont go into the details now though

Also Champ was doing a ****ing lot of miss-timings and mistakes with Dormammu, his Magneto is literally godlike but his Dorm can still get much better; although i like that he has a great sense of what is Dorm value for that team and he shows with his decisions; Dorm > Mag > Doom, and he was sacrificing Doom with hard tags for keeping Dormammu alive in crucial moments, i would have done the same

Yeah it’s not like he has a ton of movement options. He basically has mash, get hit by mix up or be in a situation where he most likely will get hit.

Yeah Nova looks like he can throw Morri outside of the range of her shell kick.

That’s because they only want their characters being broken or he sucks.

It’s the only reason why people suck Morrigan’s tatas so much.

Being able to stall well is part of the matchup vs morrigan though.

Magneto does probably lose to morrigan slightly but if you’re a patient and lame minded Magneto player like Champ, whilst playing a team that suits patient, lame minded people, then a magneto team can do fine against morrigan.

Problem is, there is hardly any lame minded players in this game because the game mainly rewards going ham. So when morrigan pops up, who naturally counters that nutty style, all those people dont know what to do. Everyone who has been successful with zoning in this game has had history in other games. And theres a reason for that. Marvel doesnt encourage you to zone, and when you do you just end up getting hated for it (see your average stream chat when morridoom wins). This is retarded because if you can zone someone to death in a game where you die in one hit, then you dont really deserve any hate.

Your average scrub Wolverine or Nova player probably isnt used to matchups that are based around wars of attrition. They pretty much just have a single minded mentality that hasnt changed since the release of this game “IVE GOTTA GET IN AND DO MY COMBOS AT ANY COST I DONT CARE IM JUST REALLY DESPERATE TO GET A HIT”. But players like Champ have played years of Dhalsim matches in street fighter, so against morrigan thats kind of his comfort zone. Morrigan forces a Street Fighter zoning war that is reminscent of matches like Dhalsim vs Guile.

If the top tier of this game was comprised completely of duos like Dorm/Doom and Morrigan/Doom you’d see alot more calculated play like this.

I’ve only noticed this mentality lately with newer players. Everyone wants a pad to utilizing tech and juicing out your character as much as you can. Patch era of games has a lot of whiny people now.

Morrigan/Vergil/Doom used to be his old order and the advantages are rather obvious. But its disadvantages are also pretty exploitable.

So if I remember correctly, I’m pretty sure fchamp didn’t switch away from mag/dorm/doom because he coudlnt beat morridoom. it was because chrisg would just pick hawkeye instead of vergil and beat dorm and doom pretty free and morri/hawkeye/doom isn’t bad versus the phoenix team either.
