OK guys, can we stop calling FChamp the best Phoenix and stop calling Phoenix a bad character.
It’s really embarrassing to those of us who actually learn how to play the character and also know how to block rather than trying to mash A during block strings.

Pretty sure he’s the best phoenix since he’s the one on the big stage placing while the rest dream. And Phoenix sucks because that means you’re nothing picking Vergil lol. You block a Morrigan with assist vortex and the like during top 8 pls.
We going to argue semantics again for “best” character player? Remember the “best Magneto argument”? RayRay who clearly has the edge in movement, mixups, combos etc. but ended up losing to idon’tmagblastflymmhscomboFanatiq and was also losing the Mag mirror vs. Champ at TFC.
Most of Champ’s Phoenix wins are simply because he can play solid and block long enough to get 5 meters better than almost any player.
What do you guys want? For SRK should give out trophies for “best lab monster” anytime some poster criticizes another top player for failing to use whatever tech they happen to be fellating at the moment?
Does KI really only have six characters? Or is that just the revealed cast?
Does that mean I get Best Sentinel until RayRay posts some new tech?
i don’t think there’s a thing such as “new sentinel tech”.
At this point we’d find haggar/arthur tech before finding anything for sentinel.

Season 1 will have 8 characters for 20 dollars. Due to “time constraints” 6 will be available at launch and the other 2 will be finished and made available by February. Which means although the last 2 of the 8 you have to wait for, at least they are letting you know up front. So in theory, if the game becomes an Evo game there will be 8 characters for that tournament unless Season 2 releases before July.
The only thing that’s “up in the air” is the extra Shadow Jago character that Microsoft is promoting and won’t allow Double Helix to say anything about. Essentially they are giving away this extra most likely evil version of Jago that you can only play if you buy a new year of Xbox Live. Hopefully he’s the 7th or 8th character and will be regularly available after February. If he’s an extra exclusive 9th character…yeah.

FChamp is just the best player who uses Phoenix(actually, that’s not quite true anymore. I happen to think ChrisG uses Phoenix better, and that’s on his B team).
And about the KI port thing, I guess I was just ignorant then. Didn’t know Microsoft owns Rare now. I guess it was just wishful thinking that I could just buy a PS4 and still get my full FG fix.
So my TFC run wasn’t very good. My very first match was Yipes, who 3-0’d me using Nova/Strange/Spencer, abusing my complete lack of experience vs Nova. Then I beat a ZMC player named Pulse 3-0. And then I lost to another ZMC, Mac, 2-3. But only because of anchor Vergil every time.
Glad I at least did well when I played on stream.
I got to play a lot of people. Angelic kicked my shit. Played Dapvip, two other players from GA, Potato Salad, and someone else I didn’t get the name of. Everyone had good things to say about my Firebrand again.
It was unfortunately a very busy weekend for me so I didn’t get to stay and play casuals on Saturday ]:
Hung out with Xian a lot over the weekend. I thought he would want to hang around with people like JWong or whoever, but I actually saw/hung out with him quite a bit. Pretty cool dude. Bought my friend and I dinner after he won KoF.

Yeah its fine. Console exclusive fighting games are a rarity these days. It was bigger back during the golden age of fighting games, but these days they usually do the multi plat thing. Killer Instinct came out during a time when fighting games were a stronger genre in general.
Microsoft is confident in the exclusivity of the series rebooting after a 17 year hiatus, so it’ll be fun to see what it does and if it can compete with the great UMVC3. An exclusive next gen fighting game will have a unique niche in the market and the community. The recent news of Xbox centric Evo only fueling things.
