People for the most part want to stab themselves after playing me in MvC2 (offline) because it’s so frustrating to get a good clean hit that you can do anything useful with. In MvC3 any of those hits would kill me. Defensively, it’s a way different game.

And yeah, most people that don’t play piano or Killer Instinct are prone to dropping an input or two in 200 button press + joystick motion combos. God forbid.

Bro you come from smash. people dickride melee for it’s execution way harder, when MVC2’s execution required to play at even a semi-competent level was far and above anything melee or 90% of other games ever made you fucking do.

People act like ‘Oh MVC2 wasn’t that hard’ clearly didn’t fucking play it. It’s real easy to do MAHVEL BAYBEEE combos off of any tap in MVC3, but hit confirms and basic execution let alone situational confirms into anything special at all were WAY harder in that game than almost any other fucking game I’ve played. It’s really easy to confirm from SJ height in MVC3 because of all the hitstun and the groundbounces/wallslams/other anime mechanics, but have you ever tried to confirm from SJ height into death with Sentinel or Magneto in MVC2?

I played that game at a basic enough level to know how do all the execution savvy shit you needed and that was when my execution was fairly pedestrian. You will never see me in here like “mvc3 is the hardest greatest game ever” since its actually pretty ass but ridiculously fun tbh.

I really don’t want to get into this old, tired ass argument, but just to move in melee well took 6 months minimum back when I started playing in like 05. Now since more people play that would probably be sped up but the execution in that game is no joke. It is also a game where the better player pretty much always wins barring horrible matchups. I think melee is still one the most mentally and physically taxing games to have a large audience but unlike you “OGs” I want try to go above and beyond to defend it with silly ass statements like mvc2 is harder than 90% of games ever made. It could be true but such a statement reeks of crazed nostalgia. What you should be trying to big up marvel 2 is the rampant use of resets not execution, since like everything that shit can be learned in time.
