I disagree. His demon flip crosses over leaving really great ambiguous setups/ unblockables, and if you are using his regular dive kick, you’re doing it wrong.
Have you seen his fire balls loops??? He does damage without meter aswell.

link it please
whats the full notations please
yes, i am lazy and dont want to search his boards. don’t judge me lol
But seriously you think Akuma is more worthy of A tier than Kl’rt? It doesn’t make any sense. Also what are these unblockables you speak of kind sir?
The guy that won EVO doesn’t play that much anymore and is a fraud.
c.L c.M f.H xx RDP+L, [j.MHS xx j.QCF+L] x2, j.MHS xx j.QCB+L, land s.H S, air series ender
there’s different variations you can do depending on positioning, starter, etc

You’re underrating Akuma is all I’m saying. I know what Kl’rt is capable of.
Personally I see both as B+, potential A.

Very safe. Everything that isn’t a special can be made safe with Tenderizer or Meteor Smash. Anything that is? Skrull Torch (QCF hyper). I think it’s like -1 or -2 on block, so they get a grab. Maybe.
A friend of mine once called Skrull the El Fuerte of MvC3. I think it’s an apt description lol.

there is no way Strider is S tier. Bottom of A tier MAYBE.

I’ve been saying Hawkeye is top 5 for awhile now, he’s not as scary as the top 3 by any means, but he does have really strong tools and match ups that he gets to blow up despite them being good characters. He can shut down a lot of strong tools other characters can’t.

Uhhh he’s still playing. Check out Box Arena vids (won the latest BA event with Zero/Doom/Phoenix) and SRK Showmatches (2nd place finish). I forgot how well he did at SCR but lol @ doods still salty about Viscant and calling him a fraud.
Let me guess, Yun wasn’t top tier in AE because the US is too scrubby and avoids top tiers so he never had “results”?
I’m glad Viscant mentioned that shit on wakeup SRK about the US Scene avoiding top tiers.
Viscant compared her to MVC2 Strider. Basically if nothing goes wrong she’s top tier and your whole team is going to fucking die. If something goes wrong (execution is the only thing that could actually go wrong and I doubt it’s as hard as MVC2 Strider stuff), then she’ll die. Basically he said as long as you don’t screw up she should win everytime.
As long as you play the cards right and don’t flop anything she basically should not lose to anything is what he said.
That’s cuz online in this game still sucks butt. I prefer rollback, near latency free netcode. Input delay makes half the characters unplayable IMO online. All you see online are Hulks, Sents and Dorms cuz you can just mash on stuff and probably land a hit in all that delay.
It’s playable if someone lives a state from you but that’s about it.
low hitting assist plus demon flip dive kick hits high and low, and can cross up as well.
Also Akuma has really easy x factor level 1 loops. I am god awful at this game and even I could do this easily.

People in this thread think too much about mixups and combos and not enough about controlling space. IMO
That’s pretty much the UMVC3 forum in general. Everybody whores up the combo thread in like every thread cuz it’s easy to play if you know a kill combo. Not enough actual strats get talked about.

I understand that but they’re not assist+teleport level mixups, and his high/lows aren’t that good. I always think of akuma as being super solid second tier with a top 5 assist.
Edit:
Or rather that’s marvel 3. Space control is nice, but it isn’t as important as damage output and ‘opening up’, at least in this game.
Yeah I thought about it more and changed up what my said but point still stands. If you don’t know how to space yourself in each matchup you won’t be opening people up. Players like Chris G are really good at keeping themselves on optimal spots on the screen and using throws to punish people being in non optimal spots. This is considering he uses teams that don’t even TOD sometimes.
You can learn the combo but if you don’t know how to space yourself away from people opening you up…it doesn’t matter. You’ll want to know how to open people up which people don’t talk enough about either but if you can’t space yourself then that doesn’t matter either.
The people who win consistently in this game still keep themselves in optimal spaces on the screen and put hit boxes on the screen to impede the space of the opponent just like any old SF game.
It’s just once you learn the TOD’s you can just flat out kill people for landing combos instead of half killing them and then getting your Zero fucked up. Mainly cuz you’re not in a prime situation for mix up after landing that rekkouha super that didn’t kill. The fact that I see Zeros in tournament that land full combos that don’t kill people is sad. You should be gone after a full combo is landed from that guy everytime.

Fair enough. The ugly truth in this game is that good combo execution can easily carry you to upper-middle level (edit: like top-8 at big weeklies) play, only beyond that point do you have to distinguish yourself with positioning and what you might call ‘opportunity management’.

The reason why I’d argue he’s S is because I feel he’s the best anchor in the game.
[]He has one of the best anti-air assists in the game that helps to fix problematic match-ups for some characters.
[]It’s still a valuable assist outside of that for mix-ups, resets and combo extensions.
[]He doesn’t have unwinnable match-ups or situations. His worst situations are maybe 4-6, if that. He has too many tools, he’s too fast, is too hard to hit and has too much priority for unwinnable match-ups.
[]He makes big comebacks. He’s a typical monster with XF3 (like you would expect) but he becomes ridiculous with meter, or builds it quickly enough so that killing multiple characters with XF3 + meter isn’t an issue.
[]He has enough movement options that he can lame out an X-Factor or frustrate a slower anchor without issues.
[]He’s not a liability if he gets snapped in early. He’s still incredibly fast and mobile with sword normals, self-made 50/50 mix-ups and more. You won’t limp along with him until your chance to sneak him out - he holds his own.
So in my mind, he’s everything you want from an anchor. Great assist, great comeback potential, strong on point and still strong when alone (but with resources).
His biggest weaknesses are his damage (which you can work around with resources, and his resets are very good without resources) and his poor DHC synergy. But you can still plan your team around not having that be as much of an issue. Firebrand can double super using his assist for example, to avoid having to DHC into him. That’s just one example.
