DOTA had a ladder system if I recall correctly. You got a title and that’s it. There were plenty of elitist and elitist are a clear sign of just how casual a game is. You won’t see Marvel players pissing each other off [that often] because it’s pretty damn apparent when someone’s better than someone else.

Do you like, never ever ever ever go to tournaments or look anywhere on this site? And can and will not be competetive? What the fuck am I seeing now with all these leagues? Fuck Star Ladder was yesterday and those grand finals were dope and it was obvious to see that Na’Vi was the all around better team. It’s very easy to see skill differences in mobas by paying attention to movement, blocking, creep control, and general ability to adapt to situations. Holy fuck you’s one dumb queer.

I’ll honestly never understand the hype for League of Legends. Skill wise the game is more team oriented than anything else. Comeback wise it’s a complete joke.

You start a round. You bitch and moan about the controls because click and point is a shitty mechanic no matter what game you’re playing (Only works for RTS because it’s the only way to play one). You get killed because of poor positioning (Or thanks to the shitty controls/limited camera). And you end up progressively losing the match because of one ****ing death. I don’t wanna hear any ‘You can recover the game still’ bull crap because in a perfect League world, the first kill is the end of the game. Not only that, you inevitably feed more and end up getting harassed by your teammates (Even in ranked because MOBAs the worst out of people).

Factor in the fact that it’s Vergil easy to play, no more dynamic than Marvel 3’s TAC system, and hardly worth being considered more competitive than World of Warcraft’s Arenas, and you have a game that is creating a downward spiral into super easy E-sports and player elitism thanks to accessibility to casuals.

Then again, this is a problem with MOBAs and RPGs in general. They really have no stand in the competitive world, and, If anything, they need to be more player vs environment oriented, not player vs player. I’d take a FT10 in Marvel 3 any day over a round of League.

[details=Spoiler]It doesn’t help at all that the game is so easy to pick up everyone and anyone flocks to it. So many people I know (Including my own brother and myself) dedicate so much time to it that I force myself to sit through at least an hour a day of terrible KoF13 online to counter-act the simplicity. I’m sick and tired of these easy ass games coming out (Marvel 3 included) and gaining such large user bases because everyone and anyone with half a brain can play them. Sure there’s more to it than just pointing and clicking, but even then I could explain the dynamics of League in no more than two paragraphs.

Could I do that with Marvel 3? Hell no I couldn’t. Mind you, I could always say pick Vergil and mash H, but even then whoever takes me up on that advice will be having a hard time fighting the millions of setups Marvel has to offer. You literally have to sit next to a player as they’re playing and say, “Oh shit look out, you’re in situation X, with variable possibility Y, leading into outcome Z, and further into a second plane of A, B, C, D (Your incoming character being mixed up).” There’s no summing it up beyond that. Hell, you can’t even really explain Marvel to someone, they just kind of have to keep losing until they get it.

The problem is that alot of players that play it come from the FPS crew. and they’re annoying as fuck. I have had matches where my team had more kills and we lost anyway. Even if shit like that happens communication is important. A lot of people are obsessed with their lane/jungle that they dont help.

And the other issue is that “gank” attempts are not well co-ordinated and even when it is people will still bitch (OMG YOU TOOK MY KILL)

LoL is a blast with friends. I can’t imagine taking it that seriously though. I just play to have fun con mis amigos y mi esposo.

This. I play to win. But at the end of the day its a team game. It’s very rarely just one dude’s fault for a loss
