MVC3 is slower than MVC2, MVC, ST, Guilty Gear, VS and XVSF. I don’t think anything else is faster than Marvel 3 though. Especially in this generation.

Pretty much anything done with 3D graphics end up slower paced than 2D games due for the sake of having more frames of animation for everything, UMvC3 still seems faster than most fighting games nowadays though just like you said.

I wonder if it would be possible to make a 3D fighting game as fast as the old games though. Still the fighting games in this generation are still above average in terms of speed I think, which is not necessarily a bad thing.

XvSF is the game that’s so broken it’s balanced; everyone is good and can TOD. MSHvSF on the other hand is extremely boring, and Wolverine runs the game.

If 3D world had a fucking 4 frame normal, I would not be playing that shit AT ALL. Tekken is fast as fuck with 10 framers. 3D world with a 4 framer? Pssssh. Fuck that.

So this means Magneto and Storm are not as broken as hell as I’m thinking they are (as in MvC2 broken)? Though I did see that practically everyone has an infinite in that game, I guess even Zangief can do it.

I actually liked MSHvsSF, that was the first of the versus series I played back then. I had it on PS1 and I thought it was so awesome, it was back when I didn’t take fighting games in a competitive way and also when I didn’t know what was so “wrong” with the port and didn’t know what was so bad about it, when I got Marvel 1 for PS1 though I decided to play MvC1 instead (I didn’t really know anything about arcade or ports back then, so I really loved it).

Nah, the thing about XvSF is that everybody’s broken, so you can play who you like and still be a contender. Shame it wasn’t given the MvCOrigins treatment, but licensing issues were responsible for that.

And yeah, I also had MvC1 on PSX. I loved how Megaman actually got to keep Magnetic Shockwave after beating Onslaught, definitely gave Megaman an interesting tool to use in matches.

I still think MvC1 is still the better choice though, seeing how a lot of people just wanted some old characters in UMvC3 and they didn’t get it they at least have a chance to play MvC1 with online. As for licensing it seems like along with UMvC3 they wanted to do the most of what they could do with this time they had, I actually like it because then we would wait for a longer amount of time to get games like these from the MvC series.

I actually didn’t know that MM kept that Magnetic Shockwave after beating the game after I had to give my PS1 away (sadly), when I looked that up I was really surprised he could actually do that.

As a kid I also wanted to know about how Shadow Jin could play in that game… just because you’re kid and you would WANT to play those characters you know .

I like the way these DBZ characters look polished. Though what concerns me is how small and “wide” they look… maybe it’s because of the video size or something but they look quite good regardless, at least better than a lot of other original/edited characters.
