The power to not buy shit on day 1 is a very strong power. You don’t HAVE to buy the game the very second it’s out. You don’t HAVE to play the game right away before you even know what sort of DRM it has or how long it is. This is why we have the internet and we have reviews for, this is what sites such as this one exist. Don’t go throwing money away on shit that you don’t know that will good or not and you won’t have the issues you mentioned. Pre-ordering and buying games on day 1 is for fools, specially with all the information available. Everything you discussed can be summed up very easily, “I got burned because I did not do proper research and I wasn’t a smart with my money”. If you are smart with your money and do proper research, you won’t be burned 99% of the time. As far as I’m concerned, if you buy into the hype, you deserve to lose your money because you fucked up as a consumer and you get no sympathy from me. Common sense when buying goes a long way. Don’t like a company’s policies, DRM, philosophy, etc? Don’t buy their shit, don’t support their shit by playing it, don’t support their shit by giving them free advertisement in the form of forum wars, etc.
If you do not like a store’s return policy, then simply do no business with that store. Not any other stores nearby? Tough shit, don’t play the game. Yes, I am telling you that if you feel so strongly about such things then you shouldn’t be playing said games to actually send a message across. Games are a luxury, if moral issues are that important then you’ll be doing the right thing in the end.
Companies care about your money and support, if you don’t give them any they will listen. Buying the games used and playing them sends the message “I like your games, but I am not willing to pay you for them” which is why they will do everything in their power to make sure they get a return for their investment.

You’re not supposed to be okay with this but you don’t get to have your cake and eat it too. If you are buying something, do research before buying a product, pirate before you buy (as far as I’m concerned, this is renting when there’s no demo just don’t be a dick and buy the game if you liked it), etc.
If you don’t feel that the game deserves to be $60, then don’t pay $60. I rarely ever buy games at full retail price and have more games in my backlog that I might never get around without spending anywhere a lot of money. The game deserves to be $60 if people are willing to pay $60 for it, those who don’t believe it is not worth $60 simply don’t pay $60.

As it currently stands most indie games (this is very noticeable when looking at genres as a whole) are short (usually) one-gimmick games that last a handful of hours and have a price tag to reflect such. It doesn’t help that the indie market is currently in “LET’S MAKE MORE PUZZLE PLATFORMERS THAN THERE ARE FIRST PERSON SHOOTERS!” mode currently so I’m not too sure they’re such a good example to follow. Indie game devs simply make more of the same that’s popular and are really no different from big companies in that regard (this coming from a guy that has purchased and enjoyed almost every game in all the humble indie bundles) so it’s not all that much better. Indie games and big budget AAA games are simply different gaming experiences. Pay for what you like or in this case, what you can afford.

It would be feasible to do so already if the ISPs weren’t fucking scumbags and used that payer tax money that they received many, many years ago (like 10?) to actually lay down the infrastructure for high-speed internet instead of doing fuck all with it. Would also be nice if the US government fucking stepped in and just took over that shit to be quite honest. Instead we have Google stepping up and installing the infrastructure and the ISPs bitching that Google is not playing fair and that they’re getting special perks that they want as well. Fuck those guys, but that is not really the topic at hand.

Sorry but you were not snake oiled, you simply made a shitty decision as a consumer. Are you entitled to a refund? Absolutely, but that personal responsibility is still on you and no one else.

Now everyone repeat after me :
“I will stop being a bad consumer and falling for the same shit over and over then coming to the internet to bitch about it for the umpteenth time. I will do research, I will read reviews from websites that are known to have comprehensive articles and are not sell-outs, I will wait for games to drop in price before purchasing. I will be more careful with how I spend my money and will put more effort into my video game spending.”

Of course.

P4A is still fun. I stopped playing video games in general, I’ll go back to it when I have more time.

Sense none that makes…

Of course.

I’m not going to try and figure out what is running through your guys heads…
