They didn’t teach me shit. Niggas always talking about “secret techniques” lmao. They never taught me SRK for the longest time, I didn’t understand the way the game displayed the SRK motion so all my DPs were qcfx2 P, which meant I was fucked when I built super meter. The only thing they falsely taught me as a kid was that Guile was unbeatable; “I can’t jump because I get back broken or flash kicked, and I can’t get close because of Sonic Boom”. I’m glad I had a lot of people to play with though.

A good portion of my childhood was dominated by the NES/SNES/Genesis (that’s a bad thing isn’t it), so those will forever be my favorite game platforms, disregarding PC for a moment. My experience with the N64/Gamecube/PS1/PS2/Dreamcast/XBox were all through hanging out at friends’ places or borrowing them, so I don’t have as much connection to them.
