UMvC3 OTT : Where the hell is Piers!

Hey, Tony is better than he was in Vanilla. He got all these cool new toys to play with, like ridiculously long-distance airdashes, Repulsor Spread not being beyond useless, better normals, and more damage. It was worth it to lose a tridash mixup that netted you underwhelming damage in exchange for all this.

Damn it capcom, I could make a better Resident Evil than you nowadays. Can the game be at least a little scary?

If I made a RE game this would be the Opening Scene/Tutorial.
Long post

[details=Spoiler]
Its midnight with heavy snowfall

Chris wakes up in a small car, his head is on the steering wheel and he’s really beaten up. All the doors of the car are open and snow blows into the vehicle. Chris regains his senses and remembers that Claire used to be in the car with him. He has a flashback of an enormous horde of zombies chasing him and claire through the streets of the ruined city. But most of his recent memory is blank due to his concussive injury. He has no idea what happened to Claire after he entered the car with her.

Redfield then tries to turn the keys of the vehicle to start the engine. Surprisingly the engine is nearly turning over, but there is not enough gas.

Chris then removes himself from the driver’s seat ( while showing signs of debilitating pain) and realizes that his back is pretty smashed up as well. He looks in the bloody snow and sees a Claire’s backpack. He suddenly gets worried and tries to run.

But sheer back pain causes him to fall in agony.

“Damn it!” Chris grunts.

He then stands up but slips on some ice which causes him to fall into car (which sets of a blaring alarm)

Suddenly, he hears a monstrous scream and the sound of someone running in the snow. Chris checks his equipment, he has no bullets left in his pistol and his combat knife is gone. Luckily Redfield looks on a nearby telephone pole and sees an ad for a nearby mall.

Chris tries to run again, but it’s impossible. His back is too fucked up. He has to limp.

you control Chris now, the game tells you to move forward, but stay in the light

The screams are getting closer and closer. Chris is trudging through the snow. Camera is locked and you can’t look back, the screams and the tense music are definitely getting louder with each passing second. But you must keep moving forward.

The game tells you how to sprint/run

Chris then begins running, but his health bar starts to drain.

Game tells you that if your life bar equals zero then you die

Then the player would most likely stop or start walking. Eventually the game will stop you automatically if you continue to run.

Game then tells you that if a powerful enemy is chasing you and it reaches you then you die

Chris suddenly has a brief flashback, he and claire took supplies from an abandoned hospital. Among those items was a surgical painkiller. Chris then reaches into his pocket and pulls out the syringe. He fumbles with it and it falls in the snow.

Game tells you to walk over glowing health items to collect it

You hear monster roars Your health bar goes up

Chris then automatically starts running but his vitality stays the same.

BUTTON MASH SEQUENCE, Chris runs faster

Eventually the enemy icon reaches Chris. The camera pans and chris is strangled by a zombie. The zombie knocks to chris to the ground and the screen turns dark. The words “10 minutes earlier appears on screen”

Now you take control of a rookie police cop, who is searching for any other survivors. The game then shows you tutorials on how to shoot/melee n other stuff. Eventually the cop reaches Chris at an intersection and shoots the zombie strangling him. But this zombie doesn’t die, he actually gets off chris and sprints towards the rookie. You fire at the zombie but it shrugs off the bullets. In fear the cop drops his pistol, The game tells you to sprint back MASH DA BUTTONZ. The enemy icon grows closer and closer. The zombie is faster than you. The cop’s heart beats louder and louder, he begins screaming. Eventually the zombie catches up (after you navigate through a winding maze of alleyways, ladder climbing, etc)

and…

you return to Chris’ perspective. He sees the dropped gun and follows after the cop in snowy darkness.[/details]

How’s everyone? What’s up OTT.

I believe this hasn’t been posted here, but it’s entertaining:

Gotta say I thought Shuma Gorath already had some stylish combos with Mystic Stare but ***these ones ***just surprised me a lot. ABEGEN didn’t seem to play that well though I still love seeing his Tron.

…that is not Minene in your AV is it? I’m kinda confused >.>…

I’m confused… is this a joke ore something?

The air mobility on Iron-man is so horrible that it isn’t funny. Yeah, he recieved some nice tools to help, but it isn’t worth anything if I can’t maneuver with the character properly. His Air mobility was better in Vanilla then it is in Ultimate.

I find rapid siesmos and morrigan fireball/fly stuff to be much easier, because the time constraints are much easier. You have 7 frames to cancel swing before the active frames. Neither Morrigan’s fly cancelled fireballs or Viper’s rapid seismos require you to be that fast.

The motion is exactly like one method of Korean backdashing in Tekken, but with a very slightly larger window. And trying to do that motion on stick on the P1 side is not recommended because it can wear your wrist out, and hurts your endurance, which hurts your movement. It’s a lot easier on P2 side, because there isn’t as much actual mechanical movement.

To be honest, the whole ten times in a row thing is an exaggeration and isn’t necessary at all, and is a product of me getting slightly miffed because I just don’t think you understand it. But I could be wrong. You could also play pad, which makes all of this discussion moot.

Edit: It also becomes moot if you’re trying to do it on a blocked swing.

When was Resident Evil ever scary.

Pretty much. Plus people act like ADDF is the only way to mix someone up. ADD all day.

(" Why didn’t you apply to this place" they told me they weren’t hiring “Why didn’t you apply?”) x N is my life right now

lol, beat me to the punch. The only one that came close to being scaring, imo, is the 4th one and that wasn’t all that scary in itself.

Can’t remember if your avatar was a gif or not, but it doesn’t look right.

GGs I guess :\ dunno why you decided not to give any fucks and pick random teams

At least I got to test out other assists in the back I guess. If only Shuma wasn’t ass and/or I could play Strider.

Yeah I know the feeling. Everyone always knows some other place you could have applied no matter how much you do it.

Nah I be getting niggas with ADDB jS/H with Dorm

I was picking real teams at first, but by the time I knew I had no chance, I decided to just pick the teams that would get killed the quickest.

I thought I had a character crisis for a while, but I think the reason I can’t find a character I enjoy playing is because I just don’t enjoy the game.

Maybe I’ll have more fight in me later. Right now, I just feel like shit. I should probably get some more sleep.

If I had to pick one REmake was the scariest one

The “scariest” moment in RE history is pretty much the epitome of what they define as scary. In RE2 Leon B when you grab the cog wheel and Mr. X bursts through the wall pretty much scared the fuck out of me when I was younger…then that asshole does it again when you’re going around the hallway. REmake easily has the best atmosphere and I like the idea of Lisa Trevor and Crimson Heads but they really just become nuisances who get in your way and slow down the pace. i see people bring up 4 as scary, I’ve never seen it that way just many tense moments. Dr. Salvador/Bella Sisters, Garradors, Regenerators/Iron Maidens, Oven Man (moar jump scares), and the Right Hand are all fairly tense moments but nothing truly creepy or scary to me honestly. Well I mean the Regenerators/Iron Maiden breathing is a little unsettling, but I’m too busy worrying about Ashley “Dumbo Ears” Graham not getting murked to pay attention to that.

LEONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN

Thank god for the second costumes so i dont have to worry about protecting that annoying ass blonde

Yeah, I’d be scared too.

Hybreezy, you totally forgot about Verdugo and U3. Those two were pretty much the only ones that even bothered me.

Never really considered it scary… sure it had a few “jump scare” moments but that was pretty much it. I think people really overrate how the series was so “scary” before, like if you play the old games now would be so scared as someone who played that back then? Because you know, we’ve grown up and certain stuff doesn’t come off as scary anymore.

And my AV is indeed a gif, is it not working on your PC? And why doesn’t it look right >.>…

I never really found Verdugo scary. Maybe before you saw him when you were looking through his eyes.
U3 was disgusting though, the tank controls didnt help in the bunkers.

Iron Maiden/Regerator song/breathing made me uneasy as fuck.

I feel like playing RE4 again.
