By the way, first thing you should do with a PSP is link it with a Japanese PSN account. Why? Importing Japanese PSP games becomes so much easier when you don’t have to wait for it to ship to you and can just download them directly. Moreover, you’ll get access to a lot of Japan-exclusive PSX games that are just fantastic to have on the game. Of PSX imports you can get on JP PSN, I’d highly recommend Rakugaki Showtime, The Adventures of Little Ralph, and Gunners Heaven
Darkstalkers Chronicle.
Do I really need to explain? it’s Dreamcast’s Vampire Chronicle… without the option for a six-button pad or arcade stick. Eh. It’s still totally worth it.
Guilty Gear Judgment.
One of the best beat 'em ups I’ve played in a long time. If they put this on a console with local and online multiplayer, it’d have beat Castle Crashers and Scott Pilgrim down in their tracks. Plus it comes with one of the outdated variants of GGXX, if you are into that.
Jeanne D’Arc.
There’s a lot of tactical RPGs on the PSP, but most are ports. Here’s a game that was built from the ground up for the PSP, and it’s fun as hell. First game I got for the PSP and I wouldn’t change a thing if I did it all over again.
Valkyria Chronicles 2.
Maybe not quite as good as it’s console predecessor, but still pretty damn good. Worth it whether you’ve played the original or not.
Neo Geo Heroes: Ultimate Shooting.
It’s a Touhou-esque shmup featuring various SNK characters from King of Fighters, Metal Slug, Last Blade and Samurai Shodown. If you like shmups (or SNK characters) at all, get this game. It’s fun as hell.
Persona, Persona 2, Persona 3.
I personally have only played Persona 1 (and P3 on PS2), but I have it on good authority that the rest are excellent as well. I mean, c’mon, it’s Persona.
Final Fantasy Tactics, Tactics Ogre.
I have not played the PSP versions, but I have played the originals. Worth it, I can only assume.
Breath of Fire III (European Import).
Import from Europe, it’s cheap, it’s in English and it’s region free. This is by far one of my favorite RPGs of all time. OF ALL TIME! Reminisce about the times popping a Capcom game in made you feel all warm and fuzzy inside with BoF3.
Power Stone Collection.
Power Stone 1 & 2 on one disc. Why not? Whether you played the originals on Dreamcast or you don’t even know what the hell I’m babbling about, give this game a shot.
Prinny: Can I Be The Hero?
This game will make you into a man, all while playing as an adorable Prinny. Bring your A-Game.
Disgaea 2.
Haven’t played the PSP version, but I loved the PS2 version and this is apparently an enhanced port. If you love NIS silliness and tactical RPGs done Marvel-style, here’s you next stop.
Fate/Unlimited Codes.
It may be a broken fighter, but it’s still loads of fun. Definitely worth it.
King of Fighters - Orochi Saga.
KOF’94-'98. Mostly good port. I use it to practice on the go, but they are of course still good games on their own.
Riviera: The Promised Land.
Great story, beautiful art, wonderful design… just a unique experience as far as RPGs go. It really pulls you in.

It’s like Sega Saturn’s Dragon Force, except on a much smaller screen.
PixelJunk Monsters Deluxe.
The PS3 digital title with more meat to it. Great tower defense action.

There’s no reason for me to give a fuck about politics. I live in South Carolina. Satan himself could run for Republican nomination while eating babies and defecating on the American flag and we’d still vote for him so long as he’s on the Republican ticket.
I’ll start giving a fuck about politics as soon as the electoral college is shot into space. Until then, my vote doesn’t count at all.
