Thank god I wasn’t directly facing my mac when I read that. I almost hit it with the tea I spat out of my mouth.
They are more than just hot characters. Everyone of the main characters had good and interesting character. Except Vanille. Her voice messes up any and all chance of people liking her character, even if she did have an interesting one too.
Fang = Bearing the weight of the world and everyone else’s burden on her shoulders alone in a distant future while separated from her friend/(lover?), and in the end still choosing to make the ultimate sacrifice to save her friends and the world.
Lightning = was a badass soldier who was doing everything she could to protect and raise her little sister from a young age after their parent’s died. Took up the name ‘Lightning’ because it’s a ‘quick and deadly flash that fades away’, just like she wanted to be. And in her presence every character grew along the journey. Basically fought to her last breath to keep Caius Ballad from destroying space and time, but failed. She will most likely do it in “Lightning Returns”, and most likely ascend to the throne of the goddess of time to fix what Caius destroyed.
Hope = Was a sheltered child that was thrown into the dangerous and scary world while at the same time, losing his mother right in front of his eyes because she let go of Snow. He vows to kill Snow but grows out of it and stops being a whiny bitch and mans-up because of Lightning being somewhat like a mother/big sister-figure to him.
Snow = As the leader of the NORA resistance group, he charged head first against the oppressors with nothing but his fists, wit, and determination. He started with his big hero mentality and making rash decisions, until Lightning got him to stop being so full of himself that he toned it down. He also was on the journey to find and rescue his fiancé. In 13-2 he was still the hero-figure in his mind while still taking on the L’Cie brand (because “I’ll take on the heavy burden to save my friends and to hell with the consequences!”) in order to find Lightning for his fiancé.
Sazh = A man who lost his wife and everything else except his son… until he does because his son was chosen to be a Pulse L’Cie. He does everything he can to find him and when he does, he loses him again because his son turned to crystal in front of him and almost snaps when he sees it was Vanille who got his son chosen in the first place. His biggest development in character was when he decided that killing Vanille was wrong because he couldn’t live with killing a kid.
Vanille = She always ran from her problems, burdens and responsibilities. When Sazh decided not to kill her it was her wake-up call to stop running from her problems and to face them head on and to help Fang save Cocoon from falling. She and Fang later help Sarah from staying in her dream world and continue on her journey, in 13-2.
People would realize this if people had payed attention to the dialouge, or at least played the game before making judgements.

I rather like Vanille’s voice. In battles it can occasionally get annoying, but otherwise I like it.
