I re-downloaded it the other day and it’s dead dead dead. Only two or three people playing, lol. It doesn’t help that the online didn’t even work properly throughout the entire beta.
The emphasis on mutators is kind of fun, but nothing that you can’t get in a random UT2k4 server (which is also pretty dead, but you’re at least likely to find some Russians to play with). Graphics are nice but the character models are bland. One generic sleek robosoldier for each team. Movement feels slippery, like you retain a lot of your momentum when you let go of the walk keys. Kills didn’t feel satisfying when I played it; there’s no hit confirmation sound and there were no death screams that I could remember. The model just slumps over and ragdolls. The best thing about the game is its soundtrack, which actually does have some notable artists like Flying Lotus (who’s used in Sleeping Dogs) and Nosaj Thing. Having talked to people who worked on the original Nexuiz and after reading some reviews by people who played it, it’s just not up to par.
Shame, too.

The other direction starters are a lot more complicated but they lead into the same derpy loop. This loop also opens the gateway to a ton of stupid loops that I’m not going to bother posting here because it’s not the doctor doom thread

Just played a round of Dominion. I swear I hate playing with fucking randoms. two retards arguing calling each other noobs, until I tell them to stop being kids. another goes the ENTIRE match without buying a single fucking item until I notice and tell him to do so. mind you he’s 0-17-0 attacking mobs while I’m capping a point in his face after telling him to stick with me so he can stop feeding the other team. you know your team is ass when you’re playing a support character and have the second most assists and 2 times the assists of everyone in the team put together.

I’m not sure why, but plugging in or otherwise connecting any controller causes the Mayflash to register anything you connect as Player 2, whether anything else is connected or not :S
