The main issue was that angry MvC1 players were raiding the VSav room, spamming chat and making lists of specific players to Ignore (yeah.), along with using a blank savestate glitch to push the playerbase out (similar thing happened with 3S and Karnov’s in the past). It went on nearly all day.

So why do MVC1 player annoyed VSav players so much for?

They know VSav has the tightest-knit community on GGPO after SF2 and KoF and has been gaining a lot of attention and new players, so they attacked it. It was just an easy target.
