So I met this girl who was just like a character in a comic book I made a few years ago with a friend. Same name, same look, same personality…it was too coincidental. She gets really drunk at the club and while we’re walking home (turns out our destinations are next door to each other) I end up saving her life, twice - she almost got mauled by 2 cars.

Well, at least the night ended on an interesting note.

Yeah, I haven’t been playing Marvel that much tbh. I’ve been focusing mostly on KOF and Virtua Fighter recently.

I wish I could focus on KOF, but the scene is dead. Not just my local scene, but even the scene I used to drive 2+ hours away to reach is dead, too.

It’s amazing that a scene can be so strong and yet so weak. They’ll talk all sorts of smack about how they’ll beat your ass at KOF - and they would too, because they are very damn good at the game - yet they won’t even walk to a regional that’s 15 miles away from their house while I’m stuck driving 150+ miles by myself only to get no competition because the competition is too lazy.

“Oh, we’re all broke here!” Well then carpool! Work something out! I’m broke as shit too, and yet I still blow wads of cash to come out for the hope of actually getting to play the game the way it’s meant to be played!

Yeah, it’s pretty sad that I consider myself lucky to have 4 other people that take KOF seriously in my area. I mean, I had people, at the last tournament that I went to, tell me that they would play KOF if it had better online. That response confused me. I don’t know, KOF just isn’t gaining numbers, and it is struggling outside of a few places.
