I personally don’t understand hood speech at all. I was getting yelled at by three dudes from NC one day hanging with my friends because I got milkshake on some girl’s track suit. I had to ask my friend to translate after because I had no clue what was being said, them yelling over each other not withstanding.

Yeah some white people expect you to go hood 24/7 just because you’re black. Which is not the worst stereotype in the world since some black people literally can’t get the hood out of their speech. Especially if you reside in a mostly black area. Like if I’m talking with a white person that can understand hood shit ill get at them with it but if I’m talking to a proper english person ill switch up. You can usually tell by the first set of words they say which way you’re gonna have to come at them.

In a black area (i.e. the DMV) it’s one thing, you have a variety of black people and most realize that we don’t all act alike. I’ve gotten more comments not that I’ve moved away to college, which is located in a small town where black people are scarce and about 90% of the ones that you do see fall into the “stereotypical” category. I was taught to use proper English growing up, so in most situations I do, although I can activate Negro Install and start using slang if I have to. Generally the proper English thing just throws people off who don’t expect it. I know I had a convo once with one of my suitemates last semester that pretty much went like this:

Him: Dude, you’re like the whitest black guy I’ve ever met!
Me: What do you mean by that?
Him: Well, you speak proper English, look people in the eye when you talk to them, you don’t wear your pants sagging, and you aren’t good at basketball.
Me: So, what makes you think that those traits define black people?
Him: Well, that’s what you usually see in TV/Movies.
Me: (thinking) :wtf:

Yeah the damage and mix ups are too heavy in 3D fighters to have 2/3 be a standard. You can’t move in and out of space like a 2D fighter so there’s not much way to avoid losing a round in 20 to 30 seconds. Japanese and Koreans especially need 3/5 with their single match format.

Lol there’s a thread on VFDC made by Jaxel asking for 3/5 because 2/3 is too fast and has a less screen time than everything else. Japan still plays it 1 game single elim.

I’m glad there’s three rounds now at least. It really depends on what happens in the match, Grand Finals can still go on for a good 15 minutes.

Yeah, that’s one of the reasons I don’t care for Tyler Perry’s stuff. I mean, he’s funny, but he tosses stereotypes around like nobody’s business. As black people we get the stereotypes because we know that there are people that act like that, but at the same time we know that all of us don’t. When someone of another race watches it who doesn’t have experience with actual black people, yeah, it can be harmful.

I really like this team I’m using. Normally I’m swapping teams every week/fortnight as my new flavour or something like that, but this really is a keeper. It’s unorthodox but it’s looking pretty effective, who knows what else I might find out.
