Essentially, the software being used was outdated and he just needed to re-write the code, and that the adds were one of the many reasons for the site being ass

It gets worse with the SFxT section, there are links to the 3S and ST boards there too. It’s almost disgusting, but I <del>trust</del> <del>hope</del> <del>pretend to hope</del> pray that it’s all fixed by the weekend. And that includes fixing the still-missing features, like the lack of most of the old profile-editing options (now how can I express my character crisis via ever-changing signatures?)

Yeah he said all that and boom was banned and pretty much black listed from SRK frontpage. he also said when he was admin he gave himself like 20 years of premium and no one noticed.

Its okay, they forgot to re-ban me on these new forums. The reason they banned me is because when people were complaining about the bugs in the event system (which I wrote); I responded with “those bugs were fixed almost a year ago, SRK just hasn’t had the time to update their software yet”. Thats all I said, nothing offensive, nothing accusatory. There was nothing for me to “re-write” because it was re-written a LONG time before-hand. I had been offering to upgrade the software for MONTHS prior to this, for free; but they wouldn’t let me.
Anyways, the issues with the old forums have nothing to do with XenForo; it had to do with their poorly configured server. XenForo is more user friendly than any forum software out there. But SRK has decided instead to go the route of “over-nerfing” we see in fighting games. Rather than just getting a new server, they got a new server and switched to a highly inferior software platform of VanillaForums. VanillaForums are so named because they are VANILLA; just forums, no features, nothing… lame. Seriously, this software looks like it was designed in 2006.
But I’ve been saying for a while that the EVO/SRK guys don’t have the community’s best interests in mind. Poison-pilling the FGC’s efforts into eSports to prevent other companies from out-shining their own events. Charging for a premium membership, and then still showing ads to their supporters. Getting more and more sponsors for EVO, and yet still raising the venue fees for the event… as well as charging $12 for HD video.
I should make a capcom fighter forum and see how people respond to it.

Yeah I brought up the premium thing also Jaxel. I just don’t see the worth in a premium that still doesn’t take away ads. The only thing they really have in mind for once is having more than 4 or 5 fucking games at Evo. Other than that…bleh.
Doesn’t sound like the forum is going to get much better at this point other than not crashing up.
