I don’t use a camera. Dazzle is pretty bad, so I could see how it might look like a camera though. Dazzle just seems to like to throw in the black lines, and I don’t know how to remove them because I am dumb.
Maybe it’s due to your recording settings.
You’re recording in 640x480 which is 4:3, and you’re recording on a LCD/Monitor/whatever with the game set to 16:9 instead? So it would get the black bars.
But that’s a guess.

Yeah, I thought you meant scanlines which looked like they were visible in your preview. But rewatching it, you mean the extra letterboxing. Check playback of the tape to see first. It vaguely looks like you’re recording at 16:9 and producing at 16:9 but are processing the input at 4:3 (?). That’s my initial thought without really thinking about it. After all,
