I’m not too sure but i think the commentators (in ny) were saying happy bdays on the stream before that tourney. I remember it was really early on in the game’s lifespan.
Finally played a few matches last night after sitting on the game for two weeks. Bombed really bad and raged really hard lol.
Played against a Nemesis that was all about the jump back, tentacle xx rocket… When this hits an assist he’d jump up again rocket, then do the rocket super whatever the fuck for a dead assist. Do assists take more damage now or is Nemesis just an asshole?
Need to pull myself out of scrubby suckfest mode…
Assists take the same damage as before, it’s just that Nemesis is a dick when it comes to hitting them with rockets.
Thought as much. I have to chicken jump towards him to get Hulk started. Then he tries to snake me with the command grab. Assists are apparently really high risk at any range against him too. Sooooo annoying.
On the other hand, he’s free to Deadpool. So maybe I shouldn’t bitch. But fuck Nemesis.

His Rockets cause an infinite on assists. So yeah, kablooey.
Ghost Rider is also an assist rapist.
Nemmy has some good matchups, and then he has some pretty bad ones. Strong keepaway gives him trouble, like you said with Deadpool.

Not sure if your kidding, but it really isn’t, people been saying swag for years, shit just got really popular recently cause of the “swagger like us” song and now every tom dick and harry uses the word. I can’t wait till peeps stop using that word, everyone just throws it in whenever they want.
On an episode of cross counter mike and combo were talking about the players they thought were gonna be exposed when ultimate came out and they put jago on the list so he has been on a smear campaign ever since. Im enjoying the back and forth, looking forward to hopefully a match between him and combo at NEC.

More on subject, late as I am… I missed that psychology discussion too apparently. Just saw it clicking the quote above and found it very interesting. I think I definitely pick my characters based on similar personality. I’m a Hulk fan because I’m sort of a “teddy bear with rage issues” kind of person myself, and a Deadpool fan because I enjoy random nonsense and employ it in my own conversations.
Yesterday I could finish the 480 missions I needed.
Now onto passing Arcade mode 50 times.
I finally won a few, oddly enough against teams without trenchcoats or akuma (aside from a few with just one member). I’m improving, but i think a lot of my problem is them mixed with some arthritis caused by the shift in weather(go fully cold already, its Canada, its not that hard, enough of this back and forth stuff). Akuma is causing a problem because of tatsu, which makes it a pain for some of my melee characters to do well(iron fist especially) but he should be the easiest to get used to). What is getting me is the teleports on them, its messing with my blocking and makes them a b**** to hit, and they dont have to ever risk moving into my range of attack. The reach of the swords are getting me, especially combined with teleports. For wesker he just beats me to the punch with his speed, sometimes i beat him, but his damage is usually higher. I know these are the basic gameplans of the characters, but again its the frequency they pop up that bugs me. But at least i know what to look for now, that should help.

BUT!!!
I still watch streams and what not and something caught my eye the other day.

and I really got mesmerized by that Morrigan play style. Using the clone like that in the finals was really cool and even more so that it almost won him those matches. EDIT: Around the 3 min mark is where the action starts.
Is this kind of zoning a viable tactic now? Seeing this vid of NYChrisG and RayRay really got me interesting in giving marvel another try.
