I have a whole list of “EX version characters” in my head, its just never seemed the right time to bring them up.
Examples:
EX Magneto gets COTA style Magnetic forcefield and tempest hypers.
EX Ryu, his DP has full invuln on the way up, and fireballs get double (or more) durability.
That’s pretty interesting. Admittedly, I didn’t know Death considered him equal. Still, I have to agree with Xesai. Galactus isWorf effect at its finest. They wheel him in to have his ass kicked by FF, Doctor Doom or whatever villain of the week is kicking around. Whereas, Dormammu is used sparingly as to conserve his nature as beyond defeat by anything other than plot contrivance. Galactus is either defeated by his own weakness of hunger or gets straight up beat by the villain of the week.Abraxes piling up an entire corpse heap of Galactus’s is emblazoned in my mind as the ultimate epitome of Worfdom.
Never realized he was Devil Jin too! Shit, I can’t believe I never put two and two together! Fear the wrath of God indeed! It must be awesome having ‘voice of Gods’ on your resume.
Yeah, the Morrigan VA does some lines really well, but there will just be one word in every other line she’ll just butcher: “You’ve been NAUGHTEH”.
And the whole Chinese characters speaking babyish is a strange cliche of Japanese games. It recurs again and again. Xianghua, Jam Kurodoberi, Li Xiangfei etc. I don’t get it at all.
Oh god, Jam is the worst offender. Stupid AND babyish. Must be some kind of Japanese stereotype. There’s a trope for that, too. Weird since LL doesn’t sound bad in Vampire, even if Bulleta sometimes has a deeper voice than her.
Things I totally disagree about the power grid of certain characters.
[details=Spoiler]
Frank West has 2 intelligence -
WTF, the guy is an inventive genius. Also I don’t know about you but survival against nearly insurmountable odds takes a lot of thinking skills. He should have a 4.
Ghost Rider has 2 Fighting ability -
Hasn’t he kicked nearly everyone’s ass at some point in marvel history?
Doc Strange/Dormmamu/Shuma-Gorath should all have 5 or 6 intelligence.
These three are well versed in the mystic arts and it’s pretty apparent in the comics that they all have intelligence that is borderline omnipotent.
Phoenix ain’t smart, bump that bitch down to 2 intelligence.
5.Peter may be clever but I damn well know he’s not as smart as Doctor Strange/Chris Redfield. Bump him down to 3. Or leave it the same if you bump Strange.
Chris should have 4 intelligence. It would be too long of a write-up to explain why.
Morrigan should have no less than a 4 in anything but she’s really lazy.
8.Trish really? a 5 in strength? get real she’s more like a 3. Also dumb down that bitch to a 1 intelligence XD.
9.Bump Jill down to a 1 in everything cause she deserves it ;).
Okami has numerous references to people saying Ammy is kind of “dense” so her intelligence should really be a two MAYBE three.
Deadpool should have a 5/6 in intelligence. Why? because he often breaks the fourth wall, so he knows the world he’s in really isn’t real.
Virgil? the guy should have a 4 in the smarts department.
Nemesis should have a 4 in the smarts department. Resident Evil makes it clear that he is very intelligent and very persistent.
Galactus isn’t all that smart. He basically goes I’m hungry me want food. The guy is probably a 4 or 5 in the smarts department.[/details]
Is it weird that I think ofthis whenever I play or face Nemesis?
That sucks if any bit true, I never played a DSs game but I loved her in MvC2 bc of her face changes and the fact that she looked so innocent…until she pulled out guns and bombs.
Speaking of final bosses and other epic-ly powerful villains, what about a boss version of Thanos? Like a vastly improved version of his MSH self. I’ve always loved the Mad Titan because he is just that ridiculous of a character in the Marvel universe. It’s hard to trump someone who’s made the universe his bitch three times over.
Pretty sure he’s just joking. Lack of T&A sounds way more plausible for why BB Hood didn’t get in compared to that.
The Darkstalkers aren’t here to represent movie monsters. They are meant to represent the Darkstalkers. Considering Felicia is almost as popular as Morrigan herself, I’d say she is anything BUT a bad pick. Hsien-Ko, also, has appeared in more crossover games than any other Darkstalkers character aside from Morrigan and Felicia.
Also let’s keep in mind that Hsien-Ko doesn’t suck because she doesn’t fit the game engine. She sucks because the creators of this game didn’t even bother to make her fit the game engine. She sucks because they don’t give a fuck. We all know what they need to do to make her not suck - they just won’t even bother.
Finally - Morrigan didn’t officially defeat Jedah. The only thing that officially happened in Vampire Savior was that Morrigan and Lilith reunited - and even then, it isn’t official whether Morrigan defeated Lilith or Lilith defeated Morrigan.
I’m pretty sad that Galactus doesn’t have this as one of his intro quotes:
Galactus: "Now feel the power of cosmi-OH CRAP NOT YOU AGAIN!!!"
Ghost Rider: “Sup.”
He does have this though…
Galactus vs Super Skrull: “I remember your homeworld. It was delicious.”
