What? Not at all. Nerfing her assist makes her a worse assist character. It doesn’t effect how useful she is on point either. She was mediocre at best on point in Vanilla and her point game got hurt pretty bad ( as far as I can tell ) and she was an excellent assist character in vanilla and her assist got destroyed. I’m not seeing what’s left to be honest.
Not to mention Haggar’s point game was buffed too. He still has lots of trouble getting in, but once he’s in, dead character. Bum has great team synergy with Haggar/Hulk/Chris (is that the order?), and I don’t think it was a lack of matchup experience or anything because he was blowing up good players all night.

Speaking of Nemesis rocket launcher THC. It kind of sucks with THCs because The opponent (if not dead) will almost Always come out of hitstun before the Nemesis curbstomp, making it unsafe. However with certain full screen supers it does work.
Bio-Weapon Assault (Nemesis) + Grenade Launcher (Chris) + Amaterasu (Okami Shuffle) = The coolest damn THC ever.
Also, GomuGomu has no hidden DLC, he just leaked a bit of his awesomness into his copy of the game

i think it cause i havent’ fought enough but he is mad annoying to me now. i was doing first to 5 player matches and the 2 guys i lost to that day both had spencer on their team…one of them acatully had combos…the other had XF3 >_>

He runs team Stars, Wesker/Jill/Chris and has by far the BEST wesker I’ve ever seen. The man is doing REAL, COMBOS with wesker, and even used Jill and Chris’s assist to do some major damage. His Jill and Mine were going at it like rabid dogs though haha. His Chris is friggen amazing. EVERYTHING on this man’s team is amazing. He switched Chris out for a bit for Dante, when I switched to my off team, and his dante was doing some CRAZY shit.
And to make it even better, he is an extremely respectful and nice guy. It’s people like him that give me faith in the XBL community. Did I mention his Wesker?
Man I wish we had more people like that on PSN. What is a real Wesker combo anyways? you mean like LMH QCF + L Teleport Gun OTG c.M s.H QCF + M Teleport Launcher, air series OTG Super?
because thats the brunt of Wesker combos to me. “Real” Wesker combos to mean using Cobra Strike and Ghost BUtterfly in the combos.

I use Jaguar Kicks in my combos after I found out that it became combo-friendly. My Wesker’s Berserker Slash doesn’t cross up but it looks pimp and he can punch you in the chest afterwards.

Tron really does suck as badly as people have said. It’s not even the GF and j.H nerfs that get her. It’s the hitstun decay nerf that kills her. She can’t do her jump loops any more, she can’t do KSB loops any more, her damage sucks now, she has an even harder time getting an opening, and to get damage that is even comparable with the rest of the cast, she needs two assists behind her (not a good thing at all). She’s terrible.

Just got back from my first local tourney and I had a great time. I got there and first game I actually started playing was Kazio Mario. Shit was hella hard but I made decent progress in it.
I signed up for marvel, and was nervous as hell going in. I play Nem/PW/Hawkeye, and because I use PW I set L2/LT to S to gather evidence. I set that but forget to set the rest of my buttons (it was previously type B controls). So we go back and I set them again. Then i beat him 2-0. First match was down to the wire. IIRC I killed two of his characters with xf3 PW, no evidence no turnabout. Next match I do better and ggs.
Next match was on stream. That alone made me shit. I play against a guy playing someone who used Vergil, can’t remember the other characters. I accidentally set Hawkeye to poison arrow assist, but I just let it rock. Let me tell you the feeling of being able to block teleport cross-ups is godly, since I’m so used to them being unblockable online. However, I’m used to playing on Ps3 pad, and I had to use 360s, and I hate that 360 dpad in every way, and blocking low on analog stick is hard so I got opened up alot anyway. I also made a fatal error with PW. I collected 3 evidence, one was bad, and I got rid of that one. Then I accidentally go to courtoom mode, and my first thought it use evidence for some reason. Instead of using the right evidence I use the slot with nothing in it. As Mr. Wright pulls out his hand to reveal nothing I hear someone go “THIS GUY TRYIN TO USE THE BAD EVIDENCE” and laugh at my own mistake. He beats me 0-2. Since it was streamed I’ll try and find it later.
Next match against someone using GR and Sent. This match I did decently in, but GR+Drones was really giving me some trouble. It ends up going 2-1, me losing. Final match was a down to the wire match against two xf3 characters. I almost clutched it out but I kept fucking up hawkeye’s air combo with xfactor. I also kept forgetting you can’t do ABCD with hawkeye you gotta do ABD. Oh well, least I didn’t get the shit rocked outta me.
Overall had a great time and will definitely be back. Met cool people and had nice games. Oh and the food was good too.
I would say so. at least hsien-ko has gold armor and some other gimmicks. I don’t see Tron with anything viable competitivly
Awesome, glad you had a good time and did pretty well yourself. I was supposed to go to a local tourney next Saturday but I have a big Christmas party so thats out of the picture.
Also I recommend buying a PS2-Compatiable with X360 converter or so, because the 360 Pad is the same reason I lost in the 3rd round of my 2nd Tournament. Seriously screw that controller. Unless you were raised on a 360.
I cannot wait to play UMVC3 offline tourney style. No more lag holding me back and making my Strider extremely jumpy. Too bad at the last tournament I was at they served pretty crappy food.
The tournament mentality always makes people nervous. Y’know unless your J.Wong or PR Rog or something, I was nervous as hell on my first tournament. I just kept laughing awkwardly.
I got to practice more on my MODOK stuff.
Pretty much this. They’re both terrible, but Hsien-Ko has a few okay matchups where she can anti-zone and has that okay assist. Tron doesn’t really have anything.
