I’ve never played any of the DMC or Resident Evil games. I think I might pick up the first of both and work my way up 
Play RE1 or RE3, they’re the best examples of the game. RE2 is good but I feel RE3 does a better job of representing a Zombie infection on a city. RE4 is also pretty good and scary despite what people think, and RE5 is well…its an action game really.
DMC= Difficult if you play on higher difficulties, don’t,do it, unless you want to spend hours of frustration.
DMC3 and RE4 are the must haves.

The order of the games goes RE 0, RE 1,RE 2, RE3, RE: Code Veronica, RE4, RE5
The big jump in gameplay was from Veronica to RE4, Its different but still has that resident evil feel, RE4 and 5 are more action based though RE4 still does scary atmosphere and scares pretty good too. They also have some pretty intruiging puzzles, except for RE5 because those puzzles are brain-dead easy.
I never played any RE game (well I did play a little of RE5) yet I LOVE the characters.
I did play Dino Crisis when I was a kid, does that count???

Dino Crisis = Classic Resident Evil gameplay except with Dinosaurs…in space, that does count. Sorta

Dino Crisis was actually my first capcom game when I was kid. Didn’t play much because it scared the fuck out of me, but loved it. I played that Jurassic Park fighting game more though.
So I finally started playing Player Matches after passing the Arcade Mode 50 times. I had to leave Zero out simply because it will be way too annoying to pull out his combos online. Ryu and Vergil are still there, but I need a character to go on point. I was thinking of Captain America, Hawkeye, Chris or Logan. Logan wins at having the easiest combos. I literally played one dude who thought he was good with him and started taunting, then I put Logan and did better combos than him with no effort. Dude didn’t even know about the classic Berserker Charge combo and I was doing it without ever trying it before, just because of the visual memory Noel “3/5” Brown printed on me, however, I still lack of the hang of actual play, so my flowchart with anyone is still feeble. Ryu, for instance, so far I stick to air Hurricane, or an eventual mix-up between lows and overhead.
It will probably be either Wolverine or Captain America, however neither of them will work to build my Vergil. But that shouldn’t be a problem if I can’t even land an attack with him to start the charge to do any necessary combos.
Dante Must Die Mode in DMC3 is like playing this game but every enemy you face is a Dark Phoenix that XFs after a few seconds.
But Dante’s top tier, so he should have no problem with that 
Cap can be a pretty good battery, and his combos are really easy imo. Plus he got REALLY good since Vanilla. I think Vergil’s popular assist would be great for him too, whatever the one is where he flies across the screen with the shit behind him. Cap should be able to do something like LM A1 H cartwheel and cross the other side as Vergil pushes them into you. This is my shitty theory fighting though, so try it before taking me word.
