UMvC3 General Discussion: You can't control it

Shuma’s J.M has the hit box range of Hulk’s Standing H, use it when your in the air and learn how to “Sweep” (using J.M at the opponent’s feet for an astounding high low mix up. Also realize that you move with Shuma by calling a tatsu like assist and using Mystic smash M to gain like +20 on block. Then on contact use RF low or Cr.M (Cr.M is much better because its only one frame slower and has huge range) to try and get the high/low.

Secondly learn how to jump cancel reverse on reaction. End your block strings with cr.H and then immediately either use Air Mystic Smash L on low block or (M if the opponent uses advancing guard)

Thirdly learn his 410k bnb (I think I posted it in the Gorath thread) it’s the most reliable of Shuma’s combos and he gains 1 entire meter off of it. Meaning he gets “free” hypers.

Fourthly, become comfortable with hopscotching (using Air Mystic Smash H to “double jump”)

All in all, mastering Shuma earns you a great high low mix up character, access to an amazing assist, and the ability to break nearly any sort of defense. Also since all of his hypers OTG. You can rack up huge damage off TAC passes with him

I don’t know about you guys but I’m actually pretty sick of having to face off against giant but really easy marvel bosses (although Onslaught is a slight exception to the easy bit) in the vs series, although for Thanos I’d prefer him to be an actual playable character but I’d be fine with having him as a boss so long as they don’t make him as stupidly easy as Galactus.
I want to fight a Capcom bosss for once, an opponent that’s around normal sized but fights by himself, is powerful in every gameplay aspect of (maneuverability/health/power/options etc) and managing to provide a challenge without being cheap.

Here’s an some examples of Capcom characters that could fill this role.
Cyber/True Akuma, Cyber Dan, Oni, Double God Hand Gene, Asura, Overclocked Sigma, True Gouken (yes I realize that there’s a lot of SF characters on this list but they’re just examples of characters that I feel would work), a superpowered Megaman etc.
There really is a massive amount of potential characters that can fill this role.

Good stuff to know, thanks. I was running him behind Deadpool on point since Mystic Ray is a BOSS assist for keepaway. So I need to put an anchor behind him with a decent lockdown then. Going to try a few different options there. I noticed his hi/low game was awesome. I’ll have to email myself these tips. I had only used him a few times against IRL friend kinda trolling him.

Once I figure out his basics and gets his bnb down I’ll try him out in a few more matches and try to pick your brain in a lobby or something. Honestly I do like him more than I had ever expected. His DLC alt is badass also.

Fought my first Phoenix Wright to make into turnabout mode last night. That was fucking annoying.

I like how the things you get excited about are just so standard. Gasp! a free meter for 400k damage? A WHOLE meter!?

So I decided to explore Vergil and Wesker for the first time to get a better understanding of the characters.

Ay yo, what up with dat single button teleport? Did Capcom think it would have been too difficult for the player to do the 3 inputs after the command normal? Don’t know why they needed to make it so easy.

I’m surprised there are no Vergitroll videos. That dude can mash :d::h: repeatedly and it’ll track the opponent from anywhere on the screen and smack them on the head. Gonna try this against my friend one day to see if he can beat it.

Devil may Derp.

You mean Helm Breaker? The move that has incredible whiff recovery, but can’t get punished online, lol

Ah reminds me of Nemesis, 730k 1 meter with the basic bnb, I loves it.

I’m gonna be building a secret little team and I’m gonna make it damn work. I already got the characters and gameplan planned.

Any idea on what I should do with Firebrand in a match? I hope he’s like Strider so I can be comfortable to him, but if he’s like Viper with less damage I’ll kill myself.
Yes, he’s in my team, but I’ll only go as far as telling you that. lol

After NEC, I looked for my Garchomp avatar. I SWORE when I was looking at it, I heard this:

[details=Spoiler]“Do I frighten you?”

…in Wesker’s voice.[/details]

…yes, Garchomp. Yes you do. ._.

Btw the Dragonborn of Skyrim should be in this game. Can you imagine the possibilities? Fus Ro Dah all over the place, instant wall bounce -> Hard knockdown baby!

He used to be part of Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3.
But then he took an arrow to the knee. :frowning:

oh my god…

Dragonborn for top tier.

It’s like a lot of the other changes. It was supposed to happen, but it really didn’t. Some Snapbacks are 2 frames instead of 1, but that’s about it. The technology is still there.

You can also mash on the H, and you grab people out of their guard cancel.

Yeah but Shuma has godly resets you don’t know how to counter -_- so I build one meter, get you to corner the do the 700 k version kill your character or snap to Frank for instant level 3 or 4, then troll face while I chip you with my derp normals :P. Geez and why do people say firebrand is good again?

Isn’t that like a weaker version of Strider without the teleports?

Awesome. As long as I don’t whiff I’m good.

Might…con-trolls…everyone.

I thought Chun was the only character to retain her 1-frame SnapBack. Or maybe she has one as well as others? Can’t remember.

People need to start snapping Wesker in more. At least judging from streams. DJ Huoshen did it to some success.

“The quality in this stream chat is terrible. Shameful is what it is.”

Pyron fits both roles. Start off normal sized with his normal move set (only problem is you can play as him, so maybe not), then grow to Galactus proportions. Or maybe he just arrives after Galactus is defeated in giant size ala Crazy Hand.

I think spidey just needs some hitbox extensions for some of his crappier moves and make web swing easier to use like back :h: or something(if your going to give taskmaster a one button one direction web swing, give it to spidey too). Other then that just play the character, his UWT still works, his damage can still get ridiculous and being able to act immediatly after a web throw makes alot of his advanced combos much easier to do.
