Utter nonsense. Just because code is physically written on a pc environment, does not mean it will just compile and run on any old Windows machine.
Except if you bother to read any interviews about the MT Framework that’s exactly how they have stated it works in the past. They create a PC version of the game, and then hit what they have described as a “Save as…” equivalent for compiling to the consoles. I have no idea why I bother responding to you of all people though, since all you do is routinely come up with any reason you can for why nothing should ever be released on PC.
I imagine (hopefully) that once they feel they’ve exhausted PS3/360 sales, they will “Save as…” a PC version and see what they can get there. Hopefully they will leave out the GFWL nonsense that’s shoehorned into SSFIV: AE on Steam.
I don’t necessarily think Games for Windows Live is a bad idea. It does some things well, like integrating with XBox Live profiles and, in some cases, offering cross-platform play. That being said, its implementation leaves much to be desired. Character limits on messages? No thanks. Can’t sign in while certain programs are running? Bullshit. Packet loss? Inexcusable. Besides, Steam is catching up in the same area, with Portal 2 on PS3 having Steamworks integration and cross-platform co-op. There really isn’t any reason to go with Games for Windows Live over Steam now.
Anyway, on topic:
It’s become abundantly clear that Capcom has no real desire to port this over to PC. We’re going to have to make them listen, and the only way to really do that is to take it to their forums.
GFWL isn’t a bad “idea”… neither is total communism… it’s just when it’s actually implemented do all the problems show up. Activation issues, sign-in issues, DLC issues, etc. etc. Not to mention having two overlays on top of a system intensive application isn’t the best thing in the world for stability and performance. If given the choice… I’d rather have Steam on it’s own without GFWL on top of it.
first off, i love marvel. secondly i have the game for xbox 360, which redringed, which makes teh game useless as xboxs are. i would buythis game in a second for pc. my pc is much more reliable than ps3 or xbox. and my se already works on pc so… c’mon capcom port the game!! WE WILL BUY IT!!!
I have no idea why they haven’t done this yet. They put it on Vita! I’m sure they can make it work for PC. Throw it on Steam and it will sell like NUTS. Look at SFxT. Those PC sales are great.
I own Ultimate on 360 and PS3. If a PC version was released, I would almost certainly buy it (as soon as I had the rig to run it! My laptop is old).
I would just because it would be the version that Capcom and tweak and balance as much as they want.
That’d be a terrible reason to get it because it’ll never happen. First off they’re probably going to stop supporting it at this point since the team’s working on other things and nothing is OMGWTF broken at this point. Also if they were going to release a patch they’d do it to all versions. There’s no way they’d have different versions on purpose like that.
/fixed
I would immediatelydrop SF X Tekken if umvc3 came out for PC too. I m enjoying games more on pc. I have it on console too but i prefer the pc to play games.
I know several people in my community who didn’t pick up MvC3 because there is no PC version.
Ahahahaha. It’s a broken piece of break.
Also, it costs 40,000$ to patch a game on Xbox Live. When a console game comes to PC, it usually becomes the version that the devs can tweak and improve to their heart’s delight while the console versions are left to rot.
Personally, I wouldn’t buy UMVC3 for PC. I prefer my fighting games on consoles and I’m not going to buy it again for the privilege of playing on a PC.
… That being said, the only reason I would be interested in it would be to see all the hilarious mods people would cook up. In fact, if I get better at 3D modelling, modding would be the only reason I would buy it.
OH MY GOD! JUST DO IT! NO MORE RANDOM SLOWDOWN! BETTER GRAPHICS! When I think about how easy it would be vs how many sales they’d make I feel like grabbing them by the collar and yelling “JUST DO IT!!!”
