Well if many of the psn marvel 2 vets are anything like me… I’m already back to playing marvel 2 more than 3…lmao
maybe it’s b/c I knew 100% combos for 1/2 the cast by day 3 and had little to work for except a greater understanding of how to not occasionally lose to xfactor+random super… which is boring as shit to me.
top tier strat for marvel 3 baby… do something to get your opp to jump… then random maximum wesker… zomg!!
if you didnt know 100% combos in marvel 2 by the third day then you sucked at that too
Don’t pretend like its even close to the same to do 100% combos in mvc2…
In marvel 3… using zero… you can just do 3 xx shadowmode… 3… fwd+3… 3… fwd+3… 3… fwd+3… 3… fwd+3… 3… fwd+3… 3… fwd+3… 3… fwd+3… (ect)… 1,2,3 xx super… my 6 year old can do this combo… and that’s not bull shit… meanwhile literally every character has some brain dead way to do this type of shit.
Zero can also just do 3 xx shadowmode, 3 xx xfactor, 3 xx fireball… fireball… fireball… fireball… fireball… fireball… fireball… fireball… fireball… fireball… fireball… fireball (should I keep doing or just throw in random super for the finish?) … I mean wtf sorta combo is that?
I mean my god… it’s a fun game… but if THAT is all I need to do combo wise… Imma lose interest quick.
And I’m not sure how me beating 90% of everyone I played at marvel 3 for 2 weeks… getting bored with lack of any combo progression and going back to marvel2 means I suck at mvc3…
OK so after watching another tournament stream, here’s what I’ve come to realize.
When Phoenix comes in at lvl 5, pray that you have a 2 character lead. At this point, just block and run away. Don’t kill Phoenix cause she’ll transform. Just run and get a time up win. Of course, this means being good at blocking mixups.
As a jean player I’d say that’s about right… but you still have to watch it b/c a tricky phoenix will wait for about 15 seconds left… xfactor… and do five stait phoenix forces for stupid amount of chip… which normally gives her back the lead and leaves you like 3 seconds to do something about it.
Hey bro unfortunately I jumped on the marvel bandwagon too late( some time last year) so it kinda felt as if ppl were too far ahead for me to ever become an avg player. So I figured I would just wait for mvc3 and unfortunately I am having trouble learning the game and all the good players tend to think that stuff is Obv and easy to lrn but unfortunately I never played b4 and I am very new to this type of game. So I guess my question to you would be do u have any advice for me in getting better or any tips idk maybe something along the lines of what u did to get good at marvel 2 maybe? Anything would be appreciated.
if you want to get good at any game you simply have to play people who are better than you and take a hole lot of beatings. and also practice your combos get your execution down.
Exactly what tio said… lose… but if I have any advice it’s keep your head while at it. Just ask yourself all the right questions when you win or lose. What beat you? What let you take the win?
Here are some mvc2 rules that really apply still though… 1.) get the shit off the ground in most situations 2.) neutral jump is quicker than any other… 3.) he who whiffs assist first is usually boned 4.) pushblock… seriously…
yo sentinels super armor is frikin retarded in this game. he gets hit with hard attacks wile kicking and acts like nothing hit him, if it was a light attack i would understand but come on capcom, shit is so stupid. also when he does his drones super he gets hit drones dont care super still finishes fuck out of here.
