It isn’t as if I’ve said 4 times in the past 6 posts that I am still buying the game, and that it’d be a silly reason not to. I’m not mad, I just don’t deal with stupid well. It only takes a few seconds to read and understand a forums post.

when did supers become hypers? And sorry if I don’t sympathize with any and all arguments for Dante getting buffs. Like someone said earlier, Dante players should be glad that he didn’t get nerfed at all considering how often he gets used, his awkward hit boxes etc.
how is that hard to understand? dante didnt deal amazing damage with his combos…he was more about extending the length of the combos to deal more damage…his combos were long but in the end they did just as much as a simple l,m,h,s,j.m,j.m,j.h,j.s hulk combo
Your first mistake in this post is comparing Dante to Hulk. Your second mistake is not knowing that 1 clean hit from Dante builds enough meter to kill just about everyone in the cast.
very bad logic… hulk is extremely linear and basic in his combo potential, so he doesn’t have the potential to do much more as opposed to dante who in the right hands can 100% someone and build a ridiculous amount of meter. A large portion of basic characters like hulk’s metagame is actually landing that hit as well as opposed to dante who can create many opportunities to land that clean hit into a 100%.
fine ill compare him to wesker then, same size, teleports even more than dante or how about wolvie who gets one hit and it’s over, dormammu? oh how about taskmaster?. obviously you’ve never heard of damage scaling…sure he gets meter but million dollars at the end of a combo does like 100k at most. the only mistake i made was posting thinking srk would understand dante needed his combos.
The funny thing about your comparisons is that Dante still does more damage than these guys per combo w/o assists or x-factor.
This is wrong. He needs his combos to compete with the other gods ie. wesker, wolverine, phoenix, zero, but people are saying if these high tier characters are receiving nerfs which has already begun, dante needs to lose something as well because he can easily compete with those characters.
The thing about Dante is that his execution/ingenuity required to have him kill characters off and generally use him competitively is not that much harder to utilize than anyone else. There’s nobody he loses to so it’s not like another character that has problems fighting Wolverine or anything like that. If you lost to Wolverine with Dante congratulations you just lost with the character that probably has more tools to deal with him than anybody in the game.
Basically the only thing you need with Dante even if you can’t do his 700k damage 1 meter shit is just good spacing and good reset mix ups after that spacing. Especially with everyone getting lower health it’s going to be even easier to just learn a bit of spacing and his effective specials and just land a sword hit…put somebody in a combo that you cancel before doing a super then call an assist to lock them down and teleport and set up another mix up and if they get hit they die (Richard N’s Dante is mostly based on this style of play to save meter). Dante in general is a very herpaderp character that doesn’t really lose to anyone in the game that’s simply masked by some pertinent execution to make his combos/offensive potential where it can optimally be but doesn’t really have to be just to kill characters. Just because a character requires a bit of execution to be stupid doesn’t make them any less stupid. Every top tier in MVC2 except for Cable pretty much required execution through the roof in both their movement and combos or you weren’t scaring anybody with them. Dante gets the multi dimensional cheese of the MVC2 style high tiers even before the execution.
He has an 8 frame s.L that covers half the screen and is basically invincible to any other normal in the game, he has an air special move that basically acts as a less invincible haggar lariat that causes a ground bounce and hits overhead, a teleport with that with an assist call sets up plenty of mix up as long as the opponent is on the ground pretty much whenever he wants and a bunch of special moves that get crazy utility when an assist, a teleport or both is used in conjunction with. He has plenty of stuff to bully around any character in the game and it pretty much only needs a really good assist backing him or some execution to get it all to work. His execution isn’t even on the level of Viper or Iron Man and his easy combos still do like 500k easy with a super at the end or just teleport with assist and put them in another mix up.
Ever since I’ve mained Dante it’s completely obvious that he’s any old herp derp character masked by some execution. Which makes him extremely versatile because he can do dumb ass shit to you like Wesker or Wolverine but you can also turn him into an Iron Man or C.Viper type if you want and bring nasty technologies out that blow up advance guards easily or keep his moves safer on block if you so want. All 3 characters on my team (Dante/X23/Doom) require execution to get the most out of them but Dante clearly is very cheap without the execution compared to X23 or Doom.

the other gods arent getting nerfs…wolvie can still do everything, i heard wesker is getting a health nerf but shit that was never his problem, pheonix shouldnt ever be compared to anyone considering she is only used for dark pheonix. Just a *lil’ *something. It turns out damage is the same. I think it was just the bars and the repeated raw normals that made damage seem so unforgiving.
Dante only has 900K, so pretty much everyone can kill him in one combo. The thing is…how easy is it to actually land that clean hit?

very easy actually…most dante scrubs just teleport all over that place and all you’ve got to do is press the s button to make a dead dante
and nitro if you think the other “gods” are getting nerfed…please go ahead and list everything they are nerfing on them…cuz chances are they arent even that bad

EDIT: Oh, and as a 6 foot 2 inch 260 pound redneck whos on steroid medication I’m not happy about the mashing supers. I know I mentioned accidental xfactor but I was kidding. Sometimes I get really into my matches and I will not be able to help banging on my stick. Remember, I’m from the south and we are very emotional people, this is why there was always ONE damn button on the MvC2 machine that kept getting stuck at my local arcade.
