ULTIMATE Marvel vs. Capcom 3 - OFFICIAL

Most probably the mash will just require ABC, so just mash the upper row and avoid the S button.

Not looking forward to mashing becoming a staple of the game at all.

it already is :teehee:

We can always request for health buffs anyway if Sent and Phoenix appear to really suck. I was looking forward to Strider/Ryu/Sentinel

Don’t bitch about changes until the game comes out. Bitching before release means a kneejerk reaction that we end up bitching about for the rest of the game’s life (until a patch or new version.)

I’m disappointed by the apparent inclusion of ‘mash for more damage’ moves. Simply put, they reduce the service life of your controller and encourage treating it harshly since you’re in a ‘frantic’ mood of repeatedly beating on the buttons… While I suppose Mad Catz and Hori will be thrilled by this news, this is not a good thing in general for the player/consumer worried about keeping their controller in good condition long-term. Sure, they’re not going to break overnight… but it’s still an impact on service life and not a good thing. I would prefer default damage.

Supposedly Sent’s health went down from 905K to 900K. Players don’t notice any difference in Sent’s health while playing.

I saw somebody mentioned that Storm got some nice buffs, but other than the Fair/Foul Wind special along with nerfs like no assists during float, did she get anything else?

More damage supposedly. Maybe mashed Icestorm deals more damage than in vanilla.

Oh man… Once release hits all hell will break loose with all the bitching and moaning from people’s characters either getting hit with the nerf bat (or sledgehammer in Phoenix’s case), or getting their ass handed to them by “cheap characters” (Firebrand and Strider are going to be on the top, I can tell already).

What about Ghost Rider? I’m going to time how many matches with Ghost Rider it takes for me to get a rage quitter.

Is it just me or do Capcom fix every problem with a character in MvC3 with a health nerf?

Community: Sentinel is way too good, brah!
Capcom: How about a health nerf?

Community: Weskers normals are freaking ridiculous, dude!
Capcom: How about a health nerf?

Community: Phoenix is broken, man!
Capcom: How about a health nerf?

I’m no expert but a health nerf can’t be the way to balance Phoenix. It’s just my opinion, though. No need to go spreading it around.

You don’t have literally beat down/hulk smash your buttons when mashing you know. Just a little tapping here and there or slide across your buttons.

5k decrease? Not that it matters. I really do hope Sentinel is faster.

Mashing for more damage on Hypers is stuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuupid.

Yes, I am judging before the game comes out. Come at me.

I just don’t see what mashing supers would add. As Mr. X said earlier, wouldn’t it just be easier to have the super’s damage be maxed automatically? Just seems like such an artificial way to add flavour to a perfectly fine game mechanic. Uh, again.

…IMO. In my opinion.

mashing for more damage not being in the game from the start was very disappointing. im happy its back myself

Wow you put mashable hypers in the game and you don’t put Gene in the game? Unacceptable!

Well, to each his own. I’m not mad about the inclusion, just kinda confused as to why bring it back lol. I remember in the earlier builds of the original MvC3 they had mashable hypers (thats how Dante was able to do his old old 100%) but took it out I think after the SDCC '10 build. Then now for UMvC3 I guess they decided to randomly bring it back for some reason.

But whatever. It’s all good in the hood.

You know who really needed buffs of any sort?

Dante.

I mean, are the new characters so nuts that they’re doing all this stuff that seems kind of… stupid?

Dante’s fine.

Haven’t seen anything incredibly terrible with the changes except the Phoenix ones, but she will never be a real character unless they completely revamp her. And no, she isn’t a real character in current MvC3.
