Well from what Floe said he was having a lot of trouble doing the corner hypergrav loop so that could very well be a possibility, but a lot of things can change between now and November. I’m not sure why he needed his air dash nerfed anyways but whatever, I’m not Capcom so what do I know.

Since the DHC glitch is gone, the new meta game will probably be looking a LOT different. Also Phoenix got hit HARD by the whole "can’t spam floaty fireballs thing. Makes laming out regular Phoenix a lot more viable.
Heck if I know why he was chosen, he’s from Marvel’s side so Capcom doesn’t have a say in it anyway. I’m simply looking at the characters Capcom chose from their own side, and it’s pretty obvious that they looked at the top voted choices in the polls and intentionally left some of them out so that they could be sold later, either as DLC or as the headliners in the Arcade Edition.
I don’t think you’ll have to worry about that if Rocket Raccoon ends up being tiny Cable.
And Timstuff, if Marvel was completely in control, Shuma Gorath wouldn’t be in. They hate that guy.
I think Rocket Raccoon’s biggest weakness is his name. If he was called something menacing, people might overlook the fact he’s an anthropomorphic raccoon.
Let’s be honest, if you saw this picture, and his name was Deadbolt, or Lockdown, or something reflecting he’s a cosmic prison-guard (I can’t think of anything better, I’m tired), you’d be less quick to judge him. We all read his name and rolled our eyes. I’m guilty of it too.
However, if they really wanted to add an unexpected fighter to the roster I think Typhoid Mary would be the better choice over Rocket. She’s got 3 distinct personalities, which could be used for a pretty interesting moveset. Plus, she’d look absolutely awesome on a team with Viper.

Despite all the (somewhat justifiable) hate regarding UMvC3, I’m actually pretty excited. Yeah, the notion of paying 40 more dollars sucks, but I’m just happy to see some things that needed changing be changed (X-factor/Wolverine).
As far as the new characters go, I’m pretty happy they Capcom decided to add some more original and obscure characters into the mix. And quite honestly I’m soooo excited to finally be able to play as Iron Fist in a fighting game. I’m very interested in seeing how Nemesis and Phoenix Wright play, too. I’m also happy to see Vergil since I’m a huge DMC fan. I figure since Dante is so op in this game and so many people play him, I might as well snag his brother, right?
As someone who sucks at MvC3 (scrubtacular) I hope that I can finally find and pick a team that I’ll stick with lol.
As of right now the characters that may make my team are: X-23, Trish, Vergil, Iron Fist, Captain America (please make him batter?) and Hawkeye (he looks interesting?)

Well…12 more characters can fit on all the cubicle sides of the select screen. They could have another 2 DLC characters after the game comes out? shrugs
